Questions about "magic stealing" in the lore. Permanent? Effects on the victim?
Went through some of the lore pieces including Sylas' Freljord expedition and Galio/Lux's first meeting. Obviously spoilers below if you haven't read these short stories yet.
In Sylas' story, he steals the frost magic of an iceborne and some sort of shaman which enables him to permanently be able to use ice magic and withstand true ice. Stealing this magic from the Shaman nearly killed her as she seemed to lose her resistance to the cold. On the other hand, the iceborne didn't really seem to have any negative effects after having his magic stolen.
- Is Sylas' ability to steal magic a sole property of petricite that he simply takes advantage of? Or is it a power specific to him?
- Will the ice shaman fully recover her powers with time much like a depleted battery? Or has she permanently lost her frost magic?
- Why didn't the iceborn warrior lose his iceborn magic and die from his own iceborne weapon after having his magic stolen by Sylas?
In Galio's short story, he meets a 13 year old Lux and causes her to not be able to use magic for a little while. He then exclaims that he does not want Lux to visit him anymore because he doesn't want to steal all her magic.
- Does this imply that Galio's "magic stealing" properties are permanent? Or do the affected mages (such as Lux) eventually fully recover? (Again, much like a depleted rechargeable battery). If it's the latter, then why is Galio so opposed to Lux visiting him if she can just go sleep it off and recover her magic soon enough?
Thanks!
