I feel like Sorcerer's bestowing sentience upon inanimate objects with vague 'magic' is a bad idea.

I feel like you would be cheating your audience if the lore for was simply "generic evil doll was a generic regular doll before an evil magician brought it to life with magic". I think there's potentially room for one anti-Galio champion (Galio absorbs & nullifies magic; and anti-Galio champion would absorb & channel magic) but I really don't think Shaco or Fiddlesticks would work as that champion.

I think you greatly diminish their ability to interact with the world and, more importantly, characters around them if they have such a binary backstory. I feel just making them some sort of ancient demon gives the lore team more of something to work with. But there are so many better options than just 'Magical living puppet/scarecrow'.

Well Fiddle is essentially haunted by a ghost,so he'd be actually an undead and not just a sentient construct.I mean you don't say that Mordekaiser is just a "generic evil armor animated by evil magic" do you?

As for Shaco,the question would be how he became sentient and how he became evil. From his short lore it doesn't sound like Shaco became evil because an evil mage made him that way,it sounds like he was originally created with a sentient mind that wasn't particularly evil or twisted,but then he went insane after the kingdom was destroyed. This would mean that Shaco would be a completely sentient being on its own,like any other human, and not just a soulless murder doll.

But you are right, there is more to creating a good character than just "it's magic." but sometimes that's the easy way around having to explain things especially in a world where magic exists in abundance.

You are aware "nuance" is what helps refine their individual fantasies, right?

We all understand how vauge and depthless the mini-bios are, yet people are still so eager to throw shade on narrative because of them. "Oh this says such and such but not enough about so and so, oh i hope the writers dont ruin this character, oh nooo" ...

We also know the mini-bios are just small teasers for the longer stories and it's those that are much more successful at bringing these characters to life. But they have yet to come ofc.

I would be surprised if anyone was absolutely satisfied by a short paragraph of words for any character's lore.
