Gangplank and the Harrowing?

"Tides of dead will herald my return!"

Is it possible that Gangplank will try to use the upcoming harrowing in his revenge? He could just be saying that he'll kill a lot of people as he returns, but considering how they have an annual zombie apocalypse sort of thing I don't see why he isn't being literal.

Best description of the Harrowing, ever.

This...Actually sounds like something Gangplank would do. He has an outright biblical hatred of Sarah Fortune, and he's defended Bilgewater for years from the Harrowing. I wouldn't put it ahead of him to seize the opportunity to reclaim his rickety throne while Fortune's stuck trying to stave off the Shadow Isle's black mist. And with everybody dead from (in-fighting, undead creatures, Miss Fortune's gamble, Gangplank's gun/sword), he'll have nobody to challenge him but Miss Fortune herself, and that'll likely be a face-to-face encounter in the middle of a corpse-filled dock.

That'd sound something a Gangplank who forsook all morals and principles would do. Use the Black Mist as a way to weaken off Miss Fortune's forces or outright exterminate them, and then sell Bilgewater to the highest bidder (Demacia and Noxus mostly) in exchange for help defending from the Harrowing

Gangplank I'll burn it all down if I can't have it

Unlikely. As much as he hates Miss Fortune right now, he actually needs something to rule over. Theres no point in being Pirate King of some broken ships and docks infested with the undead. He would fight against the Harrowing, if only to

  1. Prove that he's as strong as ever, a captain even death couldn't catch.
  2. To bring people back to his side. Miss Fortune blew up half of Bilgewater, so to speak. What better way to herald his return than as a defender against the Harrowing? To show that he is the only one worthy and capable enough of leading Bilgewater back from the brink.
