Stop taking this GAME seriously

League of Legends is at first just a game. Yeah, maybe you've become passionate over it but it's a game first. Sex sells and Rito will never drop that motto so you shouldn't expect things to change. Don't bother writing stuff about it cause this is just a game and backstory tings are way below Rito's priority agenda.

Just think of thematics as a hobby, don't go too much into it. Everything Rito does should be expected and there's really no point in talking about it. I was pretty let-down after reading Kai'Sa's lore and listening to her voicelines on release but I haven't been writing paragraphs on why she's a shit character. Reason being is that this is just a game and who gives a fuck. If Rito aren't taking Kai'Sa seriously why should you?

######Not to drag on all of Rito tings tho. They do have good stuff.

Cuz it inspires some kind of emotion in people that leads to a need to express said emotion in a verbal manner?

I mean technically this isn't verbal but the point still stands: people have opinions, people will discuss said opinions. Telling people to stop taking something they invest in and care about enough to discuss in an extended manner is really just silly.

Dude of course Rito's taking this seriously. They are literally paid to take this seriously. It's their actual job that pays their bills. The discussions had on these boards are gonna be paralelled internally by Riot, considering they are also a company who are comprised of people with thoughts and opinions to discuss.

I do get your sentiment; these discussions can get tiring at times, but telling people to stop taking something they feel passionate about seriously feels like a huge disrespect to them, since it's effectively devaluing their opinions and view points to just sweep a blanket over all of them and say "shut up and vanish". Definetly not your intent there, that's clear, but really are you not doing exactly what the people you're criticising have been doing, but just relating to a different topic?

You can blame all the sensitive people who argued Kaisa was sexualizsed from a v-neck. Dumbest argument I ever heard and those people should be ashamed of themselves.

League is a game, yeah, but it's also art. Part of the advantage of modern tech is that we have ways to interact with and enjoy art on a very large scale. This is a space provided by Riot for fans to discuss their art, which is a crucial part of what makes art work. It can be discussed and analyzed. If we don't do that, we aren't really engaging with the media we're consuming, at least not as much as we could be.

I personally don't see a problem with complaints if they're well worded and polite, and people can respond the same way. If someone wants to say "I don't think Darius is a compelling character, because his lore is...", that's fine. Unfortunately, what we tend to see, especially when it comes to these more controversial topics, is "fucking riot can't write darius is shittttt" or whatever.

Obviously the current big topic isn't about Darius, but the same principles apply, honestly. If we want to actually further League as a game or an artform, we do need to have these discussions, not just dismiss them as not mattering. That said we need to have them in a better way than we are right now, with all the insults and throat jumping.
