Is it me or Karma is better fit to be in the Odyssey universe then Sona.

The first moment I watched the trailer and saw the girl in the green dress I thought it was Karma, with the floating circle around her. That was my guess and it ended up being Sona which I have nothing against that. I love the skin and theme of hers. But since we got some lore on her skin and what she does it kinda gave me the impressing that the role Sona has is a perfect fit for Karma. Karma's concept in general is a religious figure or leader. And Magic. And that is the exact same thing Odyssey Sona is in the skin universe. This is a thought I had in my mind for some time now and here it is. I wonder if someone else thought the same thing. I know its a skin and it doesn't have to have any sense or connection to the classic concept but still.

I'd actually say that Sona does fit better than Karma.

Karma is a leader who sees violence as a last resort and thats a pretty big part of her character,which would really clash with the odyssey crew and not in a good way.

I mean can you imagine Karma going along with Yasuos orders or Jinxs antics?No she'd likely offer better plans than Yasuos and berate Jinx for behaving this way. But Sona wouldn't do that,heck she can't do that due to being mute,she has pretty much no other option than going along with the odyssey crews wacky way of doing things.

Also she is likely meant as a reference to the opera singer from the movie "the 5th element",so there is also that.

Hmmm, probably. While it's obvious that they choose Sona mainly because of her popularity, there might be some other factors that help Sona win the selection. Though, my gut is telling me they choose Sona before considering other champs because money.

It's also possible Karma might just have another skin in development, so that's why they passed over her for this. Like how Ziggs wasn't part of the Omega Squad last year, despite being an obvious fit. He got the Arcade skin instead. Maybe she can get an Odyssey skin later where she is part of Sona's Order or something.

Would Karma instead of Sona been a decent choice for the Odyssey skins? Yeah, probably. Say what you will about Jinx's or Yasuo's skin, Sona's skin could have been given to a number of young female mages & probably not change anything narrativly or thematically.

It looks like Karma is still up for a future relaunch, so I think Riot wouldn't want to waste time on a skin they are going to have to change in a few years anyways.

Sona's kit is in a pretty good spot, comparatively, so even if she does get a rework, it wouldn't be to the level of Karma, which means less work for the art team.
