Jhin's Age of Killing

Hello! As from the title, I'm here to talk about Jhin and his age of killing. I just find Jhin a fascinating character Riot has worked on, and especially his age. I also feel that in his lore, he became rather young for a murderer. Why? A Rioter has answered that Jhin is four years older than Zed:
> So Jhin appears to still kill both civilians and whoever he's told or paid to kill. Why won't anyone, especially the people who freed him, reign him in?

> Will we ever know why he became a killer? As in, what was the moment that set him on his path?

> So he was never tortured in prison? Did the government give him prosthetic limbs or did he do that himself?

> He has a lot of lines for Zed, and doesn't like Shen's father, but what are his views on Shen?

> Now that he's freed, what do Zed and Shen think about Jhin? Any chance on a confrontation?

> Where did he get his equipment, most notably his gun?

> Before he was caught, how did he kill his victims? Has he always have his gun?

> How old is Jhin?

Then, a Rioter responded:

> Answered previously. The promo stuff shows people he imagines killing. Not 1 to 1 with lore. The team wanted more visual diversity.

> He is an instrument of terror. He is actually doing what they want him too.

> Personally I have a very clear idea of how that came about and intend to hint at it.... but ultimately giving the audience a simple answer isn't my style and would be inappropriate for this sort of character. Part of the power and fear a psychopath generates in fiction is we don't understand them.

> Ionian prisons are very humane.

> ?huh? He has a bunch of lines for Shen too.

> That's in his bio. Kashuri armory, southern Ionia. (And will be touched on in his color text (i.e. short story)

> He has a vo line about this. Blades.

> About 4 years older than Zed.

So, if Zed was 10 by the time they started this mission, Jhin would be about 14. And when they caught Jhin, Zed would be 14, Jhin 18. ( As the mission did take 4 years.)

As you may have guessed, this thread is basically Jhin's age before, and afterwards. But in his lore, it also states that Zed was still young:

> When they caught Jhin, young Zed marched forward to kill the cowering man, but Kusho held him back.

If they were about 4 years apart from each other, and Zed was still young, Jhin could have still been young being locked up. Here are some of my guesses of his age, before and after.

Before/Starting
Zed 10> 14 Jhin

After/Captured Zed 14>18Jhin

Before/Starting
Zed 11>15Jhin

After/Captured Zed 15>19Jhin

And so on, I would guess Zed was about 10 when they first started the mission. As many people probably knew he was young I just wanted to make a board on it and see your opinions. Yes, I am fully aware Riot may be adding more parts in Jhin's lore. Although, i still think he was very young before and after his murders. And as I think of it, don't you think he was quite tooyoung?. Anyways, I would like to know what YOU guys think Jhin's age was when they started and after. (And yes, I am still a noob at these threads and how to make them >,>)

I think Zed and shen were already a bit older when they went on that mission. I mean Kushos hair grew white during the mission, meaning that kusho was most likely already in his 50s or something like that when it started and Shen and Zed are probably around the same age. So it wouldn't be a problem for both of them being young adults already when the mission started

Also I doubt that Kusho would take 2 kids on such a long and dangerous mission with so many horrible deaths, especially not because he originally thought that they were hunting a demon.

I think that you got Jhins and Zeds age all wrong. they are too young. I think that zed would have been 19-22 years they got him

his limbs are just wearing armor for the recoil on the gun

°There are theories about a "link" between jhin and kindred. You should look it up if you want an answer to the question "why does he kill people". Also, he clearly say :" My art is a compulsion, I cannot resist it." which could explain why the number 4 is in everything he does, even killing. (obsessive-compulsive disorder)

°As said above, he hasn't robotic limbs, this is an armor to protect him from the recoil of Whisper, his fully assembled gun

°His gun, now that's something. After the war between Ionia and Noxus, Ionia's government knew they had to equip themselves with more advenced weapons than bows, swords and magic. They replicated poorly the Hextech weapons of Zaun. Jhin reworked them to better suits his needs after Ionia's government provided them.

°Before he was caught he used blades which he imbued with with his Chi (same for Whisper's ammo)

°he's free as long as he does his job, that means killing people which is what he wants to do. I don't think you can define him by "being an instrument".

Dunno what to add, except that a rioter (forgot his name sry :D ) said smthg like " If a character as powerful as Jhin happened to die, it would literally perturbe runeterra."
