Yes, that game.

Rengar is a hunter, through and through. The thrill of the hunt pushes him to track down and eliminate the most fearsome creatures known to Runeterra, often without regard for his own safety. This desire to hunt is so prevalent, it rivals the inherent need to feed of his most recent quarry, Kha'Zix. So long as his prey provides a sufficient challenge, Rengar will gladly carve from them a trophy to commemorate his mastery of the hunt.

However, Rengar has found less and less worthy prey, with only Voidreaver proving to be a difficult, and dangerous, catch. When beasts of Valoran fail to satisfy his love of hunting, to what will the Pridestalker turn to in his need for a good kill?

In "The Most Dangerous Game" a short story by Richard Connell, a man by the name of Sanger Rainsford falls off a ship traveling to Brazil and swims to an island notorious for its propensity to wreck ships. There he discovers a general by the name of Zaroff, a hunter who became dissatisfied with hunting after the world's various creatures failed to offer him a sufficient challenge. On this island, briefly home to stranded sailors, Zaroff pursues the most dangerous game of all: man.

While there is no explicit evidence to support the belief, most assume Rengar inhabits or at least hunts primarily in the Kumungu jungles. With the release of Rek'Sai and Ekko's supplemental material, we know that members of the various nations travel beyond the limits of their countries' borders; Noxian trappers, wealthy Piltover aristocrats, traders from Shurima, they could all venture into the Kumungu jungles to fulfill personal agendas.

Foreigners that enter the treacherous lands of Kumungu may qualify as an open invitation. Numerous parties could enter the unforgiving forests with varying degrees of preparation, providing a unique test for Rengar with every guest. The question remains: would Rengar hunt humans?

Yes and no.

I don't think he's going to go and hunt a random lost human. To someone like him, thats a step down. Now if there was another hunter of some notoriety, a human with some skill behind him, then I think Rengar would welcome the challenge.

The most gangerous game: Gnar

I would say he probably does BUT he was raised by a human so that throws in a little variable there. I mean what do humans hunt? Other species. What are humans to rengar? Another species.

Simmilary to a predator he would only hunt worthy prey. Strong individuals. He wouldnt care about merchants or nobles, he would need warriors.

I definetly think that Rengar both does and doesn't. Allow me to elaborate because I purposefully made that convoluted.

Rengar was a creature that, growing up, knew the jungle and that's about it. He hunted the biggest game in the jungle and was satisfied for a while until his pride got to be too big for his boots, and he wished for new game to hunt, new challenges. The lucky (or unlucky depending on your perspective) lion found that prey in Kha'Zix, an alien creature he had never seen before and is likely one of the few of its kind in Runeterra (I doubt Kha'Zix's species have spent a great deal of time in Runeterra; he might even be the first).

Later he came to meet Gnar, a Yordle with the ability to transform in to a huge, hulking creature that was unimaginably dangerous. Another new challenge to face, and one Rengar likely said "You know what, maybe a bit too much for me. Later Gnar." and ran like the wind. It's now more than clear to Rengar that there's more to the world than his jungle. He knows all the animals, he knows all the routes and paths, but he's now met two creatures that have defied these expectations. This is the start of a new saga for Rengar, one where he hunts game beyond his borders and challenges beasts unlike any he's encountered before. I see a journey across the lands for the pridestalker, collecting trophies and growing his ego immensely, and of course, afawk he's only ever met one human; his surrogate parent. While I doubt he thinks of them as prey their species is a different matter entirely. Humans can be weak and frail but they can also be unimaginably strong. They change, they adapt, they're like him. I see no reason why, after having seen what new things lie in the world beyond his stomping grounds that he won't try and hunt humans in the future.

Hell maybe he already has.

Regardless it'll be interesting to see how Rengar handles the steel and stone jungles of man.

Also as an aside I realised something writing this. Ekko's never met or seen a yordle. Rengar has with Gnar and it's implied he's met others considering he immediately recognised Gnar's species. So in the new canon Bandle City might be super far away from human civilization, nestled in some far corner of the continent. Just a thought.

I always thought this was a given.

Well, wasn't that initially why he was in the League- to hunt the most dangerous game in Runeterra, period?

Doubtful, because of his father. I mean, if someone challenged him he'd gladly gore him/her, but I don't see Rengar killing another sapient being just for the sport of it
