But, why? What does having more scales do for the character? It honestly does nothing but harm the character as a whole, the closer we get to a chameleon the closer we get to dissociation between Personalty and Appearance.

Here's a chameleon I found from just googling 'cute chameleon'. Now, maybe this does it for some folk, but not for me. I think it just looks like a chameleon, not cute, not awesome, itsa lizard to me. Chameleons aren't that common a pet either, not like things like Dogs, Cats, Hamsters, etc. The closer we go towards the Chameleon scale of "Wu or Rengar" like, the more freakish she's going to look. Anyone remember this guy?

And don't say "Well they don't need to make her completely chameleon like" well then don't go complaining that you want her to be more like Wu or Rengar. They are so frigging close to their respective animal arch types, that's the theme you get.
My point is, take away Neeko's model, and you have this childish, cute speaking, american lesbian, if we're listening to her character interactions as well. So, the character should match the personality. I wouldn't expect to see Braum speaking like Annie, or Pyke on Soraka. Neeko looks cute and such, because she's meant to be a cute character, personality and appearance.
