Well, it was a cop out of them to just leave it at that. ;) Jinx didn't just stand for Jinx, it stood for Jinx Falkenburg. Here is the origin: Copyright, LIFE Magazine, January 27, 1941

The Mafia Jinx Skin appears to be a 1920's flapper jinx, dancing barefoot. The actual jinx was popular in this 1940's article, she was popular for many reasons, including dancing barefoot like flappers often did. I meant to post this when Jinx came out, when all the hype was around her character.
