He isn't a Yordle, nor he looks like a Vastaya... Do we even know what he is?

He's an offshoot yordle species that developed to live under the sea.
He is the living incarnation of magical cancer with no cure in sight, with a single buff he could outclass the demonic midget named Teemo.
Not even Riot knows. But maybe around 2020 once the game actually has lore we'll find out.

He most definately is a Vastaya.
Vaystaya doesn't just mean "Bird person".
It's a term that refers to any humanoid with animal features.
His species is likely closely related to that of Nami and Sea Hunter Aatrox, the Marai.
he's a yordle. All small characters are yordles, just like annie corki and amumu.

Fizz is part of the same branch of the Vastaya genus as Nami is.
You have to understand just how broad the term Vastaya means. Vastaya is as large a genetic familial branch as Mammals is, from the elephant to the whale to the rat to the platapus. About the only thing needed to fall under the Vastaya flag is to have animalistic blood and be a magical creature.

In the lore it says Fizz is a yordle , there may be different types but in the end a yordle is a yorlde. It says it in the website also in the League mini bios they give when you go to the champions collection in the game. He is NOT a Vastaya ( Like Xayah or Rakan ) nor a Vastayashai're ( like Neeko ) 
Fizz is a yordle, originally it was “he’s distantly related to yordles” but now with thelore overhaul for yordles, it’s confirmed he’s a yordle. Yordles are easily affected by the environment and society they live in and adapt to suit, so much so they begin to embody that culture

He's part of an underwater race that didn't have a name and is currently all but extinct based on current knowledge, so he as a species doesn't really NEED a name since currently it's only Fizz.
