A Crucial Problem With ZAC's New Ult

I understand that they wanted to give some more character to ZAC in the game and make him more fun and identifiable with his ult animation; however, the ult animation completely contradicts his character given in his bio and lore. Yes you can say that there's a difference between the character in the game and the character in the lore. I doubt old ZAC's calm demeanor on the rift matches his instability in the lore, but when it COMPLETELY CONTRADICTS the basics of the character in question that's when I draw the line.

ZAC in the new lore is essentially a superhero having trouble trying to be a hero because of his surroundings due to some weird Mood Ring/Super empathy trait (It's really confusing if you look at it). Even though he causes tons of collateral damage, he's still seen as a good person who's trying to respect his dead parents' morals.

So what should we do? Let's give him an ult that literally has him laughing maniacally and evilly as a puddle before he takes everyone in it to their deaths. Because that's something right? I mean, it makes him look more like a villain than an actual hero, but it's something to get by.

Considering riot's successes and standard in showing some form of character in the gameplay in their more recent champions (Kled's uncontrollable tendencies, Jhin's 4 shots, Illaoi's ideals kinda being shown in every ounce of her kit, Galio's "save the day" ult, Garen's "Villain" passive), it kinda seems rather ridiculous to have such an ultimate like this for a character. At least his old kit didn't went against it completely. At least his old ult can show how chaotic and unstable he can be in the battle field.

I get that Riot wanted to strengthen that blob-man fantasy for ZAC and give him something more fun, but at least know what that blob man does as a character IN YOUR OWN GAME WORLD before you start reworking his kit and animating him.

RiotShrieve, if you're looking at this, please, at the very least, change that ult animation.

How does Zac laughing before he carries people around make him like a villain? If we are going by that, we can't have any playful characters right? If anyone laughs while fighting, it's evil. This just seems pretty dumb to me. Zac is playful and misunderstood. He's laughing because he's a kid and about to bounce around. Seems fitting to me.

(Many people forget Zac is very young)

Well you can also use his ult to fling the enemy team away from your team, thus saving a lot of people. Also his lore makes it clear that it is sometimes hard for him to remain calm in a battle, because his empathy-power also works with his enemies, thus he absorbs their feelings in battle as well.

the laugh does sound evil.

I have to agree, but I'd say he didn't need to reworked in the first place. He wasn't overloaded or weak, while having both a low skill floor & high skill ceiling. The ultimate change is rather unimpressive, removing most of the power he had for teamfights it seems.

Zac's mouth is a jagged crooked grin; the "evil Grinch" smile you're seeing doesn't seem any different from the one in his splash. He seems mischievous or playful in a blobby shape, sorta like Plastic Man. I didn't get anything evil from it at all.

Also, every hero's abilities take enemy champions to their deaths. Blitzcrank is not evil, but he pulls champions. I don't seem how scooping up enemies in his own amorphous body for a joyride is anything contrary to Zac's character. I think it's pretty fitting, actually.

I'm with the other guys on this one. Just because an ability CAN be used to harm someone doesn't make it evil. It's not what the power is but how you use it that determines good vs evil. If anything the fact you can move the entire enemy team out of a fight and still escape sounds pretty 'super hero' to me

He doesn't actually laugh in his ult; his mouth just distorts a bit. Riot only showed him laughing in the promo video.
