Jax's true origins: A theory.

So I re-read "Where Icathia Once Stood" and while I simply assumed Jax has been Icathian all his life, I began to wonder. What if he isn't from any of the known continents?

Hear me out:

From what we know, a born Icathian, from the short story "Where Icathia Once Stood" who's name is Axamuk Var-Choi Kohari Icath’or, reflects so in his namesake. Kohari is a name given to Kohari warriors that fight for Icathia, from what we can tell within the short story. This is where I begin to speculate Jax's origin. Jax's name at the time of the invasion was Saijax Cail-Rynx Kohari Icath’un. The difference worth noting is Icath'OR and Icath'UN. I am no linguist, but this possibly(?) could represent Jax being foreign to the vassal state.

Now, I was thinking more about this and was wondering why Icathia was so damn important to the Shurimans that they sent a god damn full scale military with a dozen god-warriors to deal with the rebellion. Then I realised, Icathia is a peninsula with very rich tropical climate slap bang on the equator; as shown in the Dev diaries regarding Runeterra: https://imgur.com/zu0uXNG
Not to mention Icathia is right next to a massive ocean. You may be thinking: Why the hell does it matter? But the Runeterra we currently know of is only a portion of the northern hemisphere, for all we know Icathia could be a VERY essential port for trade with continents we don't know of for Shurima. IT ALL MAKES SENSE!!!!!

Okay. So back to Jax's origins. The one thing I couldn't really get around was the Sai part of his name, referring to the word "desert" in an ancient language. For someone that lives in a tropical landmass, that would seem like an unusual name, right? Yeah, UNLESS he came from the desert. And I don't understand why the hell he would come from the Shuriman deserts and just start rebellion against them? I honestly think he is from a continent we don't know of yet.

Jax isn't (in my opinion) from any of the known continents. And it would make sense why he so easily departed from Icathia, where as Axamuk was so distraught to the idea of leaving his home. Maybe Jax was banished from his original home, or it was destroyed as well and he simply had to relive it all again? I personally believe that Jax felt very at peace in Icathia, maybe because they accepted him for looking like a "monster" - 3 fingered and purple - maybe Icathia was a society that took those in and loved them, and that's why Jax was so at home there. And before someone says he probably is just Shuriman. I don't believe he was though, because there is such a hatred towards them from Icathians.

“The Shurimans are dead, but I’m not sure that’s the same thing,” said Saijax. “Now find a mount, we have to go.” “Go? What are you talking about?” “Icathia is doomed,” he said. “You see that, don’t you? Not just the city, but our land. Look around you. That will be our fate too.” I knew he was right, but the idea of simply riding away...? I didn’t know if I could. “Icathia is my home,” I said. “There’s nothing left of Icathia. Or, at least, there won’t be soon.” He extended his hand to take mine, and I shook it. “Axa...” he said, casting a glance back at the creeping horror. “There is no hope here.” I shook my head and said, “I was born here and I will die here.” “Then hold to who you are while you still can, lad,” he said, and I felt the weight of his sadness and guilt. “It’s all you have left.” Saijax turned his mount and rode away. I never saw him again.

So yeah. That's all folks. I'd love to hear your opinions <3

Considering the Saijax in his name, I'd assume he comes from the desert Sai, the same desert where Rek'sai and the Xer'sai are currently located.

Jax is secretly a race of Troll, thats why he has three fingered hands, purple skin, and 2-3 fingered toes like Trundle has. Trudles Ice trolls are far larger than Jaxes kin.

I thought he wasnt originally a three-fingered, seven-eyed, purple humanoid and just a human that got corrupted by the Void

While the discussion on Jax is interesting, I cannot seem to find that biome map in the opening post wherever I search, I could possibly be blind. As a worldbuilder myself though, and writer, I am intensely interested in it.

For Jax and on topic, though, remember when Ryze was at Bilgewater wanting 'passage to the east" ? There's nothing directly east of Bilgewater on the map, ohohoho. Icathia happens to be on that same side of Shurima as Bilgewater, so perhaps there is something there that just is not common (or even uncommon) knowledge. The void has opened up in several places (Freljord being one of them supposedly, since watchers = void creatures), Icathia may not have been the first, but the latest, for the ultimate twist.
