@Riot Developer Art Team - So What You Going To Do Now? Nothing Makes Sense on Karma

Karma is now younger, has a personality, and is this being with multiple voices in her head. What are you going to do to translate this into the game, her kit and art? Right now NOTHING adds up. Right now nothing makes sense. Right now nothing is working as it should. If you are going to make such drastic changes to her lore and character, you better have the work ethic to make it happen. You still have yet to do it for Varus but here you go making the same mistakes you made with Varus on Karma. If you are going to change the retcon of a champ so much, then you need to back it up with hard work and creativity.

This isn't a matter of "will get to it later." This is a matter of you deciding to make drastic changes to characters like Karma and Varus and not doing anything about it. You refused to listen to the community in regards to the champions you changed. You need to hold yourselves accountable to that change and make a lot of things happen. Making a champion wait 5 more years for art, theme, and kit changes because of a drastic lore change . . . is not right. You made a choice. Act on that choice.

For Karma:

  1. Needs a younger looking appearance.
  2. Needs a more modest appearance.
  3. Needs a new VO that doesn't make her sound old. She needs a voice actress that can really play off of the new personality and age of the Karma YOU created.
  4. Karma needs more narrative and some of the voice lines needs to be her connection with the previous versions of herself. Have the voice fade in and out. Have the voices contradict what Karma does in game. Have the voices guide Karma through out the game. Don't make it just one person either. Make it like the character from Avatar has. Take it a step further and make it several different voices of her past talking to her.

YOU DECIDED TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. YOU NEED TO MAKE IT HAPPEN WITHIN A REASONABLE TIMELINE. THE SAME THING WITH VARUS. If you refuse to listen to your community then you need to show us you made the right decision. Because I see a mess of a champion like Karma and Varus with completely different lores and themes that do not match their current art, sound and theme in game.

Keep in mind that appearantly the noxus invasion is already over at the current time,so Karma is now likely in her 20ies.

Eitherway I really hope she'll get the next aatrox-level-update,because this new theme isn't really represented anywhere ingame and her kit is one of the most boring and unimaginative kits in the whole game anyway.

They made changes to Karma because they needed to update Ionia's lore to include variety of characters. The 'savior of Ionia' theme was a better fit for Irelia and Karma seems more like a traditional spiritual leader anyways.

  1. we don't actually know how old Karma's latest incarnation is. We know she started hearing voices at 12 but time has passed since then and she might be 30 by now. Story vaguely said "Over the years, they taught her to connect with her ancient soul" which could mean 2 or 20 years, who knows. And it's currently 7 years from the war. So she's physically at least 21 years old, more likely closer to 30 years if not over.

  2. Why?

  3. Voices vary between humans. Some have deeper voices, some have higher. You can't just say "this sounds too old" when some 25-year-olds have same type of voice. Her voice intonation is calm because she values peace and tranquility.

  4. That's an interesting thought. It would be cool to expand on the enlightened theme this way.

Stop trying to make Karma younger based on speculations on her age. Also who said it would take 5 years to receive any in game changes after a lore change? Varus got a lore change few months ago and is now receiving a gameplay change (which is on PBE). He also got a new splash art. That didn't take 5 years...

or maybe her in game model is few years later... ¿ or maybe the spirit makes her age faster ¿
