Tibbers is a Demon that is both the source of Annie's power and will end up being the death of her.
Core theory/TL;DR at the bottom.
Hey fellas, dipshit here back at again with more rampant pyro and/or %%%%philia.
So.
I'm sure most of have seen the new LoL commercials by now.

Now while these may be goofy, memey, cringy, or all 3, there is one of them that intrigued me.
The middle one, titled "Escalation".
At around the 0:30 minute mark, it specifically refers to Tibbers as a "Demon bear".
This caught my eye.
There is no place, neither in Annie's old, nor her new lore, that has mentioned Tibbers being a Demon.
In the old lore, Tibbers was a so-called "Shadow Bear", native to the Voodoo Lands, that was ensorcelled by Annie and transformed into a doll so she can carry him around as a toy, ready to be summoned at her whim.
In the new lore, it isn't explained what Tibbers specifically is. The only thing we know, is that Amoline, a witch and Annie's mother, created him herself based on the Shadow Bears that her fellow colonists spoke of, that had supposedly once lived in the Ironspike Mountains, but were now nothing more than a mere tale.
This already means the possibility of Tibbers being a Shadow Bear is ruled out, since they don't exist anymore.
Now, this is where my crack-pot conspiracy theory comes in:
#Tibbers is a Demon.
So far, I only have 3 arguments for this theory.
-
First off, there's a common theme with Demons that I'm sure y'all know about.
embodies Lust,
embodies Gluttony, and
embodies Fear. What do all these things have in common? They're emotions. Now, what is Tibbers primarily summoned through? According to Annie's short bio, Tibbers is summoned through Annie's "unpredictable, emotional outbursts" that Annie later learned how to control. See a theme here? Her power was linked to her emotions, specifically her Anger. This could mean that, like all of the above, Tibbers embodies Wrath. -
Second off, for someone that's supposedly out to protect Annie, Tibbers is unusually violent and aggressive, much like a real bear. When Daisy tried to take Tibbers from Annie, he didn't just warm himself up where Daisy was holding him in order for her to let go, he shoved her away with full force straight to the floor. Another example is later with Leanna where he doesn't just scare her away, he kills her. In Annie's short bio, he's even described as "a fiery beast hellbent on destruction". Hellbent on destruction, huh? That doesn't sound like someone who'd protect a child.

Third off, the disappearance of Amoline was very strange in the story. One day whilst Annie was still a toddler, Annie and her father were both very ill. However, this supposed sickness was not of the natural kind. Annie's fever turned out to be so hot that Amoline actually wasn't able to hold her in her arms. Amoline had supposedly went to fetch icy water from the nearby river to help with this, but the next morning, she was gone. Annie, however, was completely healthy, playing with none other than Tibbers in her crib.
Now, one pattern I saw between Amoline and Annie was that both of them had their family slowly die around them. Amoline's husband and her daughter were both slowly burning to death due to the fever, and Annie's family all died (Daisy's fate is unknown, but she's most likely dead) so there has to be a connection to this.
Now, Amoline was specifically described as a witch, not a mage, so that must mean she hasn't been tutored in regular magic, and has instead delved into witchcraft and, potentially, demon magic.
Now, this is where the solid theory and where the TL;DR is:
#THE CORE THEORY/TL;DR BEGINS HERE
Amoline, Annie's mother, being a witch, delved into dark and forgotten forms of magic during her time in Noxus. Before she and Gregori left Noxus, she managed to summon a Demon that possessed her. She didn't mention any of this to Gregori and both of them went to the Ironspike Mountains. While Annie was still a toddler, the demon decided to strike. It attacked both Amoline's husband and her daughter with an unnatural fever that slowly burned them up from the inside. At first, it was nothing, but as Amoline grew more frustrated and desperate (as Annie's story tells us she did), the fever started to grow worse. Amoline tried to fetch icy water from the river, but it didn't help. Since she wasn't sick herself, she evantually realised that it was due to the Demon inside of her that this was happening. She then decided that if the Demon didn't kill the one it was possessing, she would transfer it over to Annie in order to protect her from it's Wrath. The price, however, instead killed Amoline and the Demon was sated, for now.
The Demon would evantually become the source of Annie's latent pyrokinesis and would grant her her fire powers. Years later, "Tibbers", as the Demon was called now, decided to claim it's second victim: Daisy. While Annie and Daisy were both running along the river, Daisy trips, falls into the river, and the only thing to hold on to is Tibbers. As Annie becomes more distraught, however, Tibbers briefly flashes fiery, before his eye comes off. This clearly shows that the Demon willingly let it's eye come off so Daisy could die, it just needed Annie to become angry before it could do so. When Annie came home, overcome with anger and frustration from both losing Daisy and from being called a monster by Leanna, this feeded the Demon and it set fire to the house. Evantually, it would claim it's third victim: Gregori. As Annie struggles with Leanna, coupled with all the things she's been through, she lets out one shriek of rage that was finally enough to summon the Demon into the world. It then proceeded claim it's fourth victim and brutally kill the last person Annie has ever known, Leanna.
If Annie ever grows attached to another person, the Demon will find a way to kill them too until, evantually, it will claim her as well.
Tell me what you guys think.
