After updating to windows 8.1 I now have no sound?

Ive updated to Win 8.1 this morning and now I have no sound. Not only do i have no sound in LoL, my computer wont play sound at all.

Before updating, I had Windows 8. Things Ive done: -attempted to update device manager -Computer refuses to play test sound, and when i reset default settings. Still doesnt work

  • Win+R devmgmtsrv, There are no problems detected when I view the audio driver in the device tab.
  • Ive ran a control to stop the sudio process and started it back up, no luck.

My computer is a MSI GE60 and has a Realtek Audio driver.

Please help =/

Are you using speakers or do you have headphones plugged into your computer?

Just because Windows indicates that everything is fine, doesn't necessarily mean that that is the case. My first thought is a driver incompatibility issue.

Yeah, also a possibility. I agree with Cyber - you should check the compatibility of your audio drivers with the current Windows patch
