Pentakill on Twitch Tv

Streaming on Twitch blocks copyrighted music unless you have the rights to play it, is the music by Pentakill copyrighted? Would playing it on my stream cause my audio to be muted?

it's probably garbage music anyway.

Riot says one thing, does another, so I'm really not sure. But if it's a non-revenue-generating stream, I'd imagine there'd be no issues beyond a warning if there was an issue at all.

This is a really interesting question and sadly I don't know the answer. There is only one way to find out - give it a try!

EDIT: Or look into Phreak's streams. I know he plays a ton of official LoL music and/or fan made LoL music while he plays.

He doesn't do that anymore because viewers complained about it. Now he only plays the in-game music.

That said, back when he did, he got permission from the creator of every song he used and Twitch never auto-muted his stream for it.

I am not sure, but I believe Twitch only auto-mutes streams for music that the creator has requested be auto-muted, and I suspect Riot has not done that for Pentakill.

I'm in the same camp - i think the only way to know for sure is to try and see. I'd be very surprised if it was auto muted.

Wow, this whole music censorship is frankly quite ridiculous. It's bad enough that youtube's been taking down great vids because of it, now twitch is jumping on this bandwagon? So much bull.

I have the mindset that copyright does society little good anymore.

it does and it doesn't. It can get easily complicated, but without it, we'd end up like china. (boot leg versions of everything, and that ruins the economy and the quality of the products)

Copyright law is used as the pretext for numerous violations of privacy, speech, and I could go on. It does more harm than good. We are in an age where most information that has wide value is relatively freely available at your fingertips, offered to you freely by others.

Copyright serves as the primary reason the movie and music industries are where they are today. Industries that don't need to exist.

League of Legends could get by without copyright law.

Copyright law started as a means to prevent the sale of copied books, now you could put a blindfold on, literally press a few buttons on a computer keyboard and you might end up being a copyright felon.
