does anyone know of a way to disable this? it really irks me every time and leaves me with a pain in my chest. i really think there should be a way to disable it for people who are easily startled, because i hate going from complete silence to some sudden noise at max volume.

Working on implementing a volume slider/mute option for this in the next patch or two.
I 100% agree. It startles me EVERY TIME, regardless of volume. Perhaps a less "sharp" sound would be nicer?
Do you mean the sudden DUNG sound when you click the "Launch" button? If so I second that. It's very annoying to me too! I think riot should remove that or have a way to disable that.

Well on the bright side when i am outside and the game finishes updating i can definitely hear it as it breaks my windows .
