Velara and Serena
Lore: Serena was a young girl from Ionia, who was forced to flee when the Noxians attacked. She was training in the mystical arts at time of the invasion and was quickly separated from her teacher and fellow students while being pursued by a tracker. Having nowhere to go she fled aimlessly before coming across a worn down temple hidden somewhere in the mountains. Tapestries lining the walls displayed a history of a powerful woman protecting a foreign land before succumbing disappearing and only her weapon remaining. As she examined the forgotten history she heard the howls of the trained beasts the tracker released to hone in on her. The doors burst open, the creatures setting upon the young girl in a moment’s notice and forcing her to use her abilities to protect herself. While she felled the beasts with relative ease, she had no magic left to defend from their master. She scrambled on the floor, trying to prolong what was left of her life. As he raised his large axe a voice filled her mind. “If you would live, wield me!” Glancing behind her she reached back and grabbed the wicked dagger behind her. A clang of metal meeting metal rang throughout the room as the knife stayed the axe. A rush came about Serena’s body, starting to push the assailant back. “Thank you, child.” A voice not her own came from her lips as her body began to move of its own accord, morphing into a terror as the Darkin took over. Once their attacker was slain she spoke with the weapon once more. “My name is Velara. I am your weapon. You are my host. So long as you live, I will never be in need of a body. So long as I live, you will never die.”
Concept: Velara and Serena represent two sides. Serena will use mana and focus around mage gameplay, while Velara focuses around an AD assassin gameplay.
Note: this is mostly thrown together. I wanted to put it down while the idea was fresh in my mind. I’ve read up on the lore of the Darkin before posting this. So I know that Darkin usually seek to dominate their host, but doing so destroys the lifespan of the body. So I wanted to make a Darkin that lives WITH their host to prolong the host’s lifespan therein not having to worry about trying to find a new body as often or having the potential of the host destroy it. I also wanted to focus around differing gameplays coming together. Yes. There are mage assassins. But I wanted a champion that could freely switch between control mage and AD assassin that also promoted constant changing between the two (hence the passive). Passive- Duality: Serena uses Mana and Velara uses Energy. While out, they cannot regenerate their respective resources. However they regenerate twice as fast when the other is out. (IE, Serena regenerates no mana when she is in control, but has double mana regenerate when Velara is in control and vice versa.) While Serena is in control, AD on items is converted to AP. While Velara is in control, AP is converted to AD. (Conversion rate maths I’m too lazy to put in at the moment.)
Q- Mystic Flame/Soul Tear: (S) Caster launches a small fireball in a line, marking the first enemy hit, marking them and dealing (%current hp) magic damage. The next Mystic Flame can target a marked enemy or Soul Tear can be used from a range. (V) Caster slashes an enemy and slows them dealing (%missing hp) physical damage. Normally melee but can be used from range range if target is marked by Mystic Flame. Ability applies on-hit effects.
W- Stay Back/Nether Pursuit: (S) Caster uses arcane might to push back enemies in a cone and dealing magic damage. (V) Caster camouflages and gains movement speed. Targeting an enemy will cause the castor to dash through the enemy, appearing on their other side and dealing physical damage.
E- Arcane Trap/Reset:(S) Caster marks the ground with magic. Mark is invisible. Upon an enemy stepping on or near mark, enemy takes magic damage. Only 5 marks can be out at once, marks last for 3 minutes, and marks take 0.75 seconds to arm. (V) Caster resets their fighting stance, cancelling any previous actions and removing all debuffs/disables as well as any positive effects. (Yes. This means basically she can Gangplank E, but if she say was Shielded by Janna and got a Nami E she would also lose these effects.)
Ultimate- Switch Control: Has only 1 rank and is already learned Level 1. Player switches between Serena and Velara.
