Possible solution to toxicity, while maintaining player base.

Is it worth Riot's attempt to keep their company with as many people as possible for this fix.? The fix would be implementing a permanent mute feature to strictly players that flame/curse in-game. Could be tested by picking only a select few players who have received bans solely for toxic chat (not for griefing, giving up, cheating, etc). I'm not entirely sure if I would qualify, since I'm sure I've been reported for intentional feeding (even though losing to a snowball lane doesn't count), but nonetheless, other players should have a shot at playing the game while being verbally clipped. I love the game, I abhor the community. But please can permabans stop being handed out like candy from a robot that isn't the same as the Tribunal without some legitimate way of reforming? I feel like banning for toxicity is on par with considering marijuana a felony. It's not that bad. My god. Just shut their mouth forever, and they play.

Then they'll start inting/going AFK instead.

Riot has already tried something similar to this with infinitely scaling chat restrictions, but it didn't really work out very well. This lead to a direct increase of gameplay toxicity because Riot found that the majority of players who had a high number of chat restricted games resorted to trolling/griefing/inting/etc. when they couldn't use chat to be toxic. Thus, Riot decided that it would be better to simply permanently ban these players instead, especially since those who only use chat to be toxic are already given multiple warnings that their behavior is unacceptable.

i think inting/trolling ruin the game way more than someone who can be muted, or perma muted to not talk at all in game...

pings are decent enough now u dont even need to talk.

they should implement a hearthstone like chat system, so they dont have to ban so many ppl, and post game lobbies would be hate/flame free!

They've already tested chat bans and it just made those people int or afk instead lmao
