odd way to treat the newbies

i just recently started playing this game. in the beginning we were offered several characters as a way to "learn how to play the game" as part of the tutoral. now that i am beyond the beginner area, none of the characters make sense to me now, they are all different. it makes game play quite frustrating as i get killed all the time now. i really liked ashe and wished that i could at least play here and "gradually" move into more complex things rather than being thrown to the wolves so to speak. i was told that perhaps Alistar would be better but i don't recall ever having that person as an option.

Sure there are lots of choices and it can be over whelming at first. There are some questions you want to ask yourself before looking for your next champion to play.

  1. Where on the map do I want to play? Do I want my own lane? Would I rather play on a team? Do I want to influence all lanes and play Jungle?

  2. What type of champion do I want to play? Someone who does a lot of quick damage? Ok, if so, do I want to do auto attack based damage(AD) or would I rather use abilities like spells do to damage? (AP) Would I rather be the tank? Or do I want to focus on being helper and play Support?

Once you come up with some of those answers, you can start to find champions that fit those areas. In A.I Co-Op there is a lot of Chaos and people dont often care how or where u play. As long as u defeat the enemy. But when playing V.S. others, there is a general code or meta people expect you to fit into.

Examples are below but not limited to only these. Hope this helps!

Damage Type (AD) (normally BOT lane) Ashe Jhin Lucian MissFortune Twitch

Damage Type (AP) (normally MID but sometimes found SUP and TOP) Zyra Ziggs Malzahar Lux Annie

Tanks (Bruiser/Damage tanks) (Normally TOP) DrMundo Chogath Illaoi Darius Garen

Tanks (Support/CC tanks) (normally SUP) Blitzcrank Alistar Nunu Nautilus Maokai

Jungle (Really can be a mix of AD, AP and Tanks) ** What makes a good Jungler is how well they can clear the Jungle camps and/or Gank** XinZhao Rammus Khazix Evelynn Fiddlesticks Rengar

Wish you all the best! Ignore the hate speech you will probably hear. The community will probably assume you are not new and have been playing for awhile. They may get angry if you die or what have you, but feel free to tell them u are new.

I actually started off by playing a lot of ARAM; yes, you are forced to play new champs, but so is everyone else, so everyone learns at the same time.

BUT I hear that there are big problems with bots in ARAM nowadays so it might be unplayable.

When my friend started out, it became pretty clear to me that learning all the champions is a frustrating one. The only way you can really learn and remember them is by just playing. You could play some aram. Its a bit more casual and less frustrating than the normal game mode.

After a match, if i didn't really understand what a champion did, I just looked them up and watched a video of them. You could also just look at them in the client

Isn't the new practice tool good to get a first impression of a champion ? You could practice champions there and then move on from there.

Your issue is that you play vs veterans at the low level games, because our punishment system is too good. I feel sorry for you and just hope this thing will be changed so you can learn with new ppl like yourself...
