Attack Speed Support

I think a very interesting build path would be attack speed for a support role. A champion that is able to heal allies for a small amount using its autoattacks will be able to build full AS. Instead of auto-attacking the enemy team to death, auto-attack their team back to life.

This could also bring new items with combinations of stats that were not found before, such as a tanky item that also gives boatloads of attack speed

Any thoughts?

This wouldn't work. First off, nothing in the game really scales with attack speed except for auto attacks. A champion that specializes in auto attacks is meant to deal damage. Having an auto attack that heals instead would mean that you would sit there, unable to cast, autoing your own team. Plus it would cause a big mess with on hit items and multi-target items. Its original, I'll give you that. Its just not a very good idea. The absolute biggest problem is that it isn't healthy for the game. He'll either be a giant heal tank that constantly revives his teammates and it impossible to kill and therefore super OP, or he'll heal for a super small amount and be worthless. Either way, he won't be fun to play with/against. No downvote for you, but defintely don't like the idea.

Okay I this is like sleeping on your stomach, you get little benefits compared to the amount of cons you get?

Pros: You'd be able to stay back and heal from a distance (but it would need to be a shortened distance like 375 or something). Your team would never worry about you being misplaced with this champion.

Cons: Besides auto attack healing what else could this champion bring to the table? Are they Versatile? If you played this champ on rotation say with teleport as a summoner spell, you could just blip about the map healing everything in sight or buffing the tar out of it. At max attack speed anyway with a Nashor's Tooth or something similar equipped, you would be able to melt enemies if they were kept off of you depending on how your kit would play out. They'd need a cap on their attack speed, a heal every 2.5 seconds is insane, new Raka's heal is kind of a little strong right now but its balanced cuz it costs her health.

See what I mean, it's an innovative idea sure, but would it work, possibly, but only with EXTREME TWEAKING AND CONSTANT POWER MONITORING.
