In a time long before the ruination of the Blessed isles, before the downfall of the Iron Tyrant, before the birth of the brother's Nasus and Renekton, there was a place deep in Ionia where monks gathered together, trained their abilities and pondered the nature of the world and universe they inhabited. The first of the famous Ionian monks has long been forgotten, but none forget the legend of the greatest. Swift and strong, wise and humble, he was a monk like no other yet in history, Kuo Zhi. In present Ionia, the people know him as a children's story, but monks know that the legends are true. The legend of a monk who fought a dragon bare fisted and prevailed. The legend of a monk who split a mountain in two with a single kick, then knocked them back together. The legend of a monk who's battle cry was enough to stop an army in its tracks out of fear. Kuo Zhi, the legendary monk exists as a ideal that all Ionians dream of meeting yet few of have succeeded. Though his meditations and bodily training were enough to extend his life t by three centuries, deaths soon came knocking on the great monk's door in the form of old age. In response, the monk decided that he would spend his final days, meditating, pondering the secrets of the universe one last time. He sat himself upon a rock at the foot of a sacred waterfall and began to unravel the universe one as he used too. He spent days in that position, which turned into weeks, then months, until a year had passed and death might have taken him just one day more. But an age old account of a young monk who happened to be passing by the sacred pool explains death didn't have the chance.

By chance I decided to take the path to see the pool, only to marvel in the scenery. It was there that I saw it, the grand Kuo Zhi exited from his meditation, standing atop the water as if it were solid ground. I did not see his eyes, only endless light, as if he saw things i could not begin to comprehend. He looked at if he had not aged in centuries, his body was in the state our forefathers had described. Not long ago he was completely shaven, his skin wrinkled and pink. But now a large head of hair flowed from his body and the very cosmos was visible within it, I swear it so. His skin was solid and the color of the night sky. With a calm, simple voice, Kuo Zhi spoke aloud,

"I understand now..."

With a awed expression I dared to ask the grand one what he meant, to which he replied.

"Everything."

He took a step forward and vanished before my eyes, I knew not where or how, only that Master Kuo Zhi was now more than I could comprehend, something greater than anything achieved in history.

Kuo Zhi is a legendary Monk who has attained universal knowledge and has ascended, becoming a celestial being. His attacks are quick and deadly, making him a tough bruiser to fight.

Kit:

Passive: Ascendant Ability. If Kuo Zhi enters and remains in combat with the same enemies for 3 seconds, he gains 20% extra armor and magic resist and doubles his energy regen until 3 seconds after combat ends. Once Ascendant Ability activates, Kuo Zhi's attacks and damaging abilities apply a mark to enemy champions that remains during combat, 3 after combat ends, the mark detonates, dealing 10% of the damage Kuo Zhi dealt during combat as extra physical damage.

Q: Cosmic Flurry. Cost: 200 energy. Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10 seconds. Kuo Zhi unleashes a flurry of blows that strikes a single enemy in melee range 6 times in two seconds. Each attack deals 10/20/30/40/50(+15%AD) and applies on hit effects such as life steal. This ability can be deflected by abilities such as Jax's E and Shen's W, as well as partially by Pantheon's passive. Deals 10 bonus damage a hit to jungle monsters.

W: Dividing Sweep. Cost: 150 Energy. Cooldown: 8 seconds. Kuo Zhi sweeps the area in front of him, knocking back enemies in an area by 75 units and dealing 50/75/100/125/150(+50%AD). This can knock away an enemy dash if timed correctly.

E: Vanishing Step. Cost: 250 energy. Cooldown: 20/18/16/14/12 seconds. Khu Zhi blinks to a location 80 units away, his next basic attack will slow enemies by 10/20/30/40/50% for three seconds.

R: Comet Fist. Cost: 300 Energy. Cooldown: 90/85/80 seconds. Kuo Zhi fires a bolt of energy in a line 1800 units away. If the energy connects with an enemy champion, Ascendant ability activates instantly and he can then recast the ability to dash to the target, dealing 100/200/300(+80%AD). Other Enemy champions between him and his target are knocked to the side and receive 25% of the damage as physical damage. If cast from a short distance (0-400 units) the damage is halved.

Recommended paths: Top Lane. Jungle. (Maybe)Mid.

Things to Build: AD, Health, CDR

Kuo Zhi has a lot of damage potential but is also vulnerable if cced or caught out. His passive only activates in fights, making poke from a ranged champion particularly annoying.

For Top and jungle, starting Q may be the best choice. In Mid, E might be the better choice in order to avoid enemy attacks.

Jungle: Kuo Zhi's Q deals bonus damage to jungle monsters, start with red, as blue won't be too necessary. Prolonged combat with a camp will activate his passive, allowing him extra defenses and increased energy regen. His w knocks enemies away in an area, making it a useful tool in clearing raptors.

Essential Items:

Kuo Zhi's possesses no innate way to heal himself so, one you might want to pick up some way to do so.

Other items:
