Will we ever get individual Splash Arts Again??

Red Post Collection:Team Up and Pool Party Coming, June 11th Patch Update, and more!

Lemme start this by saying I'm an avid follower of surrender@20. That being said the last two patches, with both the prehistoric and pool party skins I've logged on hoping for individual splash arts and been disappointed.

It's not that the splash's look bad, it's just that they look a bit too crammed. Like "OH we have to fit 5 champs in here so we'll scrunch them all in the art in a way that doesn't really allow any of the champs to have a cool setting that caters to them."

And it's not even like you always did this, the old pool party skins or even last years winter wonderland skins all had individual splash arts.

I understand that it's cheaper for riot but I really hope that that's not the main reason for this. So I guess the question is will we ever get cool individual splash arts for champions or will we always get groups from now on.

Hiya!

The short answer to this is yes! There will absolutely be solo splash art in the future.

We felt the Pool Party combined splash was a cool way to incorporate the pool party theme, and really tie everyone together. This gives everyone a bit more personality than if they were alone. For example, Draven is riding Rek'Sai, Zac's spitting water at Lulu's Polymorph, Mundo is rockin' out, and Lulu is splashing around. If these were to be done individually, they would likely lose some of the personality that's captured in this group splash.

That said, we've been more careful in ensuring that each champion has their space so to speak and get their time to shine in the splash (heh, no pun intended here).

Money isn't a factor here, and we wouldn't put skins together in a splash if it didn't make sense - i.e. they didn't share a similar thematic. We wouldn't put a Mecha skin with a Lunar Revel skin.

Oh, and finally, it's a pool party! Having a party alone isn't nearly as fun as it is with friends! :]

Draven's freaking riding Rek'Sai. It's worth it.

Theme skins that are released together should have share splashes in my honest opinion.

I'm so conflicted on this issue. I like that most skins have their own unique splash where they can just look awesome and do their Thang

But at the same time I love things like the High Stakes splash, where it's just cool to see them in a group doing something. (Whatever it is those guys are doing, it's cool) a shame we can't have both!

I had the same reaction when I saw that splash pun.

I though, aren't Zac and Rek'Sai 1350 skins? Rek'sai has someone riding on her back which takes up a lot of her visual space, and Zac goes off frame and isn't even 100% in the picture. Seems a bit unfair to me.

And the focus of the image is Mundo and Lulu, which to me are the least interesting of the new pool party skins.

This is supposed to be Zac's big skin debut that everyone's been waiting forever for, but the splash is so uninspiring.

I'm tired of shared splash art but you have to admit, Draven riding on top of Rek'Sai is pretty badass.

Yes......if there's no theme sharing on the same patch. If several champs receive skins that share a theme on the same patch, regardless of price they will have a shared splash art.Riot clearly is going down this route now.

The only way a skin will get an individual splash is if that's the only skin of that theme coming out in that patch. For example,if it was JUST Pool Party Zac this patch & no other Pool Party skins, then we would have received an individual splash for just Zac.

The only reason shared splashed are becoming more prevalent is because we're getting a lot skins that share a theme each patch which results in a lot more shared splashes.

Let's not act like we're not getting individual splashes anymore.Star Guardian Lux,Knockout Lee Sin,Order of the Lotus Irelia,Nightmare Tryndamere, these skins were alone with their theme.

The new Irelia skin, new Trynd, and many others haven't had shared splashes. The way they're using the shared splashes is actually fine, it's for themed sets that they are releasing together. It'll probably go back to individual skins after the pool party set.

I like the whole groups concept, makes a lot of sense. As for the champion choices, I think it would have been better to see a pool party urgot.

they give cheap skins shared splashes. Champion splashes are always individual, as are expensive skins.
