Exciting Volibear Rework Suggestion

Volibear is a thrilling champion and with some changes, he could be very rewarding to play. Below is a list of spells I believe would make Volibear more stimulating and also more viable.

  • Passive Ability (Innate): Volibear's passive shouldn't be changed. We love it.

  • Q (Feral Instinct): Volibear becomes enraged increasing his size, melee attack range, and movement speed. The first attack against an enemy while enraged will cause Volibear to lunge at the target, stunning them.

  • W (Frenzy): This ability works well with the new kit too and still makes him a brawler because of the execute potential, not just a cc spam tank. Especially when paired with his passive.

  • E (Swipe): Volibear aggressively swings in front of him damaging all enemies. Immobilized targets damaged by Swipe will also bleed out for damage over time.

  • R (Thunder Born): Volibear releases an electric field around him causing damage and applying Shock to all enemies. Shocked targets have their movement speed increasingly slowed and become snared at 4 charges.

Basically, this kit allows Volibear to compete with other tanks or bruisers by giving him utility that can impact team fights. It also makes him seem more like a bear. Instead of running at someone and flipping them over his head, Volibear tackles an enemy and stuns them. Afterward, he Swipes with his E and causes extra bleed damage. In team fights, he can engage with Q and use his ultimate to slow/snare the enemy so his team can catch up and engage as well. This is tons better than his current state where he only thrives in 1 on 1 combat and is probably why so many other champions are preferred.

I personally think Volibear needs a rework on his whole kit (mostly passive, W and R). My 5 cents on it:

Old passive was pretty much a free won trade earlygame, but felt real weak on lategame teamfights. Nerfed a bit early but buffed significantly lategame.

Passive: When Volibear drops below 40% health, he regenerates 150 - 450(+ 45% bonus HP) over 8s. During this time, he gains increased size, 25% tenacity and movement speed. Static Cooldown: 150s.

To someone who didn't really build much AD or on-hit items, raw attack speed was only meaningful for his ult and earlygame trades. On lategame, this skill is basically an execute that has to be charged.

W: Frenzy Passive: Volibear's basic attacks grant 3(+3 per level)% bonus attack speed for 4 seconds, stacking up to 5 times. At 5 stacks, he gains 20(+5 per level)% decaying movement speed. (movement speed persists after consuming stacks) Active: Volibear bites the target enemy, dealing physical damage, and consumes all his stacks. Deals 15/35/55/75/95(+5% bonus HP) physical damage per stack. Cooldown is reset when using against minion or monster.

* Note: Remove movespeed while not moving towards champions from Q, as his Passive and W now grant him movespeed.

Changed R so he'd become better teamfighter and slightly worse dueler.

R: Thunder Claws Passive: Passive cooldown reduced by 10/20/30 seconds. Active: Volibear imbues his claws with lighting for 8s. His autoattacks strike the enemy with lighting, dealing 60/90/120(+30% AP) magic damage. The lighting bounces to up to 3 enemies (priorizing chamions and epic monsters) and grants a charge per champion or epic monster hit. When reaching 8 charges his next attack will deal 40/60/80(+45% AP) (+15% bonus HP) magic damage on an area and stun for 1s.

This is Kennen ultimate.
