[Champion Concept] Erbera, the Mirror Blade
#Erbera, the Mirror Blade
Concept of the character/lore: The idea for Erbera is, that he was a human swordsman who enjoyed fighting against people either by duel or against multiple people. He wasn't exactly fair in fights and always tried to use advantages or cheating in his fights against others until one day he faced against a mysterious and unknown wizard or such who, because of Erbera's unfairness, cursed him that he won't be able to win any fight every, because anything he will take as advantage or cause unfairness against his opponent will turn against him. Several years later he faced another mysterious person who told he could break the curse, but told Erbera, that to break the curse he have to fight someone else and not him, but he have to find that certain person by himself without help. At the end Erbera realized, that who he has to fight is exactly his own self, and when he realized it the curse made a copy of him and he had to face himself in a fight, but eventually he lost the fight against his own self. He died but with that he broke the curse on himself and reborn as a new being who fight equally against people and shows them, that they only defeat him if they fight against themselves first. And since then he travels and fights people or anyone who dares challenge him. He is called "The Mirror Blade", because the exotic sword he used was similar to a mirror and also represents him, in a sense, that he makes people fight their own selves as if they would look into a mirror. Meanwhile he also bears the concept of fighting so equally, that it's almost like he copies the enemy/enemies in a fight, he makes people fight themselves.
Role: He is a manaless, mainly melee bruiser character, but because the character is pretty flexibly he can easily turn into an assassin if well played, even in a matter of seconds. His kit is gives him ability to slow targets and a gap closer which can be also used as escape, because he is a relatively low health character with a typical "assassin" base stats he is pretty squishy regardless of being melee so his kit provides him a small situational shield too. I think he has enough single target damage with moderate AoE depending how his abilities are used.
Visual concept: Erbera, after being reborn as a different being, he still have that humanoid shape, but he is basically made of tiny mirror/glassy particles/splinters just as his sword too and this kind of makes him look like if he would made out of crystal or such. He wear some very basic clothes, which consists of robe/mantle like of cloth and a hood. For looks he is supposed to look pretty bright almost white and kind of... flashy.
#Abilities: (please, keep in mind, that the numbers are rather 'vague' and can be modified any time, just used to show my overall idea)
#Passive - Fairness/Blade Splinters:
Whenever Erbera's basic attacks hits an enemy champion that has higher attack speed than him, he gains the exact amount of attack speed that champion has for 3 seconds. This refreshes with every basic attack.
Enemies affected by Erbera's basic attacks and abilities cause him to leave Blade Splinters in them for 10 seconds. This can stack up to 5 times.
Every time he achieves to leave 25 Blade Splinters in enemies from his blade, he reforms his true Mirror Blade, causing his next basic attack or Blade Shatter to deal double damage on hit and restores 20% of the damage dealt as health.
#Q - Blade Shatter:
Erbera throws his blade to a targeted direction. The first target hit is slowed by 25% for 2 seconds and takes 70/100/130/160/190 (+70% AD) physical damage.
If the blade hits a target that makes the blade shatter in a cone behind the target causing enemies to bleed, dealing 40/70/100/130/160 (+45% AD) physical damage over 3 seconds.
If the blade doesn't hit any target it shatters, leaving splinters on the ground for 4 seconds, enemies passing through it are slowed by 40% and causes the bleeding effect to tick each second while they are standing on the splinters.
Throw range: 800 Cone range behind the target: 450 AoE range on the ground (diameter): 300 Cooldown: 8 seconds
To clarify: The throw is a skillshot, works like Olaf's Q, but if it hits a target it shatters behind the target similarly to Grave's ultimate, but in a much smaller cone, the bleed effect is only applied to the targets hit behind the main target that got hit. If it doesn't hit it simply hits the ground and shatters on he ground leaving an AoE for 4 seconds which slows people and causes to tick the bleed effect while they stand in/on the AoE, similar to Cassio's AoE poison on the ground, except that it doesn't leaves the DoT on the enemy after walking out of the AoE.
#W - Impale/Rip:
Impale: Erbera quickly dashes forward in a line, if it hits an enemy champion, he impales the enemy champion and causes (80%/90%/100%/110%/120% AD) physical damage, if the target is hit from behind the damage is increased by 30% and can critically hit.
If there is an enemy champion with Blade Splinters in them, Erbera can teleport to the target, instead of dashing in a line and automatically attacks them from behind.
Rip: Erbera can use Rip within 3 seconds to rip the Blade Splinters out of his enemies around him, dealing 15/30/45/60/75 physical damage for each Blade Blade Splinters ripped out of them. Additionally he gains a shield that absorbs 20/25/30/35/40 damage for every Blade Splinters ripped out of enemy champions (maximum 300 shield). lasts 1,5 seconds
Impale dash range: 550 Rip AoE range: 850 Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10 seconds
To clarify: Impale is a dash skill by default like Shen's taunt dash skill, it only stops (within the max distance of the skill) at champions and doesn't damage minions or multiple targets. If a champion is affected by the Blade Splinters debuff, Erbera can hover over them and make the skill to teleport to that champion instead of dashing, the teleport also makes him to appear behind the target so it will always do the +30% damage because it is from behind. The impale skill can critically hit the target but only if it's done from behind the target. After the Impale Skill he can activate the Rip skill within seconds to rip out all the Blade Splinters out of the enemies within range causing damage for every splinter removed from each enemy, while also gains a certain amount of shield depending on splinters removed with a maximum of 300 shield so he can't just hit 5 champions with 5 stack splinters and make a 1000 shield on himself.
#E - Equal Advantages:
Passive: When Erbera is struck by a critical strike, his next attack will critically strike too within 4 seconds. This passive effect has an internal 3 second cooldown.
Active: Erbera gains equal armor penetration, critical strike chance, life steal and movement speed as the targeted enemy champion for 5 seconds or for the next 5 attacks. The passive effect is lost while this skill is on cooldown.
Range on active: 525 Cooldown: 12/11/10/9/8 seconds
To clarify: The passive effect has a 3 second cooldown that is affected by cooldown reduction too. The passive cooldown prevents him from having a 100% crit chance if attacked by someone who has high enough attack speed and crit chance to cause crit on Erbera which would also mean he would crit all the time with every hit. Let's just take an example and say if there is someone with max attack speed and 100% crit chance dueling him, it would be a bit unfair if he could simply copy the attack speed via passive and crit on every attack after he receives a crit himself while all he builds is +AD with no attack speed nor crit chance.
#R - Mirror Blade:
Passive: Erbera's Mirror Blade collects splinters and grows by time, increasing his melee range by 25/50/75.
Active: Erbera impales the ground with his blade and after 0 to 1,5 seconds, depending on distance, he summons a gigantic Mirror Blade from the ground at the target location. The Mirror Blade acts like a wall and cannot be passed through and reflects every hostile projectile attack back to the attacker. The Mirror Blade lasts 3 seconds or until it is either reflected back the next 7/11/15 enemy champion attacks or shattered manually.
If the Mirror Blade is shattered manually, it deals 150/200/250 (+50% AD) physical damage over 3 seconds in its area and applies max stack of Blade Splinters on enemies hit by it.
Range: Global Blade width: 600 AoE range on shatter: 450 Cooldown: 140/115/90 seconds Summon delay: within 1000 range 0 seconds, over 2500 range 1,5 seconds.
To clarify: the passive simply increases his melee range up to 200 from the base 125. The active effect of the ability is, that he can summon a Mirror Blade globally anywhere on the map (the delay on the summon is depending on the distance), the angle/direction of the wall depends from the center of Erbera, the same way as Yasuo's or Anivia's wall work and face to directions. The Blade acts like a wall and units and champions can't pass through it, while allied projectile skill can go through it, enemy projectile skills, like skill shots or anything that acts like a projectile is reflected by the wall with the exact same damage they would do, up to a maximum amount amount of attacks, after that the wall shatters but deals no damage in the area it is, but if it is manually shattered it will deal damage. Visually the summoned Mirror Blade is just the tip of the Blade and it is not an entire, full blade. The blade reflects back things that touches the model/hitbox and calculates the angles back to the attackers, much like how Gnar's boomerang calculates where Gnar will be after it is thrown and aims to that direction.
I'll update the thread whenever I can, I'm open for help and suggestions of course! And please let me know your opinion!
Since I'm not a native English speaker, sorry about the grammar or some wording! If I goofed up some sentence or such, please let me know too! I have hard times with naming and writing any kind of lore for characters.
Thank you!
