Roy - The Mercenary (Champion idea - not very indepth)
Roy, The Mercenary ABILITIES
Passive- Custom Equipment –Roy ’s attacks have different effects based on which weapon he is wielding right now. He may choose 2 weapons when levelling up his ultimate (can pick the 1st weapon at level 1 of the champion). His attack speed can’t be changed by items. Additional attack speed from items instead increases cast speed of his active abilities and reduces their cooldowns(the more bonus AS u have the less CDR and cast speed u will receive further, so that u don’t end up with 0.5s cooldowns on everything and instant casts). (He still gains base AS from levelling up). Also his attacks can’t crit but the value of critical strike chance multiplies the damage he deals with abilities by half of the crit chance value(ex. ability deals 100 damage without crit. With 50% crit it deals 100+100x(50:2)% = 100+100x25%=125) Axe – attacks are 50% slower, but he is granted additional 50-100% of his total AD and his attacks and abilities ignore up to 80% of armor based on the missing hp% of the target. Minimal amount of armor pierced is 30%. (may scale with level) Sword – attacks are 50% faster and deal damage based on % of max health of the target (scales with additional AD and has a base value scaling with level; it’s the only damage the attacks do – doesn’t deal the attack damage). Spear – attacks and abilities have increased range(around 250 units) and autoattacks deal damage to all targets in a line ending when it hits the 1st champion or any 3rd unit. The damage is reduced for any targets after the 1st by 40%. Mace – attacks are 30% slower and every third attack stuns the target for 1.5 second (scaling with level?) and deals 10-50% increased damage. The stun is 75% shorter if it hits the same target within 10 seconds.
Q – Man at arms(preferably short cooldown) – next autoattack deals(20-50%) increased damage and has aditional effects based on the weapon (also resets autoattack): -Axe – leaps to a target (the leap range is short, but increases based on the %of missing hp of the target) -Sword – strikes twice -Spear – slows the 1st enemy champion hit by 20-50% -Mace – interrupts any chanelled spells, abilites and attacks (probably a really short stun like 0.1second), and deals 50-100%splash damage to all target in a small area around the target. W – Safety first(long cooldown reduced by taking damage from enemy champions) – rises the shield in the direction of the cursor for 2 seconds, and reduces any incomming damage from this direction by %based on max AD + base% value scaling with level and mitigates any form of cc that hits within the first 1 second. Also gains 20-50% movement speed when moving in the direction of the block and reduces movement speed by 20% in the opposite direction. Attacking or casting an ability ends the block. May be cast once again to end the block refunding some cooldown. E – Weapon mastery (cooldown depends on weapon) – Roy puts himself at high risk and performs a strong move but leaves himself vulnerable if he misses. -Axe –Hatchet Master – throws the axe in a line dealing 100-150% of total AD as physical damage to all enemies hit ending at the first enemy champion or big monster (the axe then stays on the champion or monster and slows him by 20%). When this ability is on cooldown he can’t attack until he picks up the axe. During this time he gains 30% increased movement speed towards the axe or the enemy champion and his W’s cooldown is refreshed. If he rips out the axe from the enemy it causes bleeding dealing %of max hp as physical damage based on total AD(BIG DAMAGE). -Sword – Flurry of strikes – challenges the chosen enemy for 6 seconds increasing attack speed by 40-100% against him and causing a 2s fear if he moves too far away (you must be facing the enemy to trigger the fear). The additional attack speed decays in time to 10-30% bonus attack speed at 5 seconds. -Spear –Spear jump – pressing E makes Roy move the spear forward and walk at 50% speed, channeling the ability. The movement speed increases while channeling up to 200% movement speed at 3 seconds. Second cast makes him stick the spear into the ground and jump forward on it (may be directed by the cursor). The jump lenght is based on current movement speed and is equally the value of MS (example: movement speed is 500 – jump lenght is 500 units). Deals aerial damage in the place of landing (100-150% total AD). The damage area radius increases with your maxhp. -Mace – Overwhelming strenght – strikes with a mace 3 times in the chosen direction in a small cone hitting all enemies(triggers the passive effect) and reduces the damage dealt by the enemies hit by 20-50% (won’t proc the passive on the target that was hit by a passive stun within 10 seconds). He may move during the attack but he is slowed by 50%.
R – Prepared to the battle – Switches between his weapons. (long cooldown, reduced by casting the other abilities, casting 3 abilities should be enough to change the weapon, the Q and E cooldowns are not shared for different weapons, but W is).
APPEARENCE A tall man wearing light/medium armour, wielding a kite shield. 30-40 years old; black, medium lenght hair, shaved facial hair.
STORY (VERY SHORT – IDEA) Ex-Noxus soldier that quit the army after seeing a massacre of innocent villagers. Banished for „being a coward”. Now wanders from city to city in search of a good cause to fight for and hunts bounties. He doesn’t like his job, but he was raised to be a soldier and knows nothing about other life. CLASS/POSITION IN THE TEAM Overall: Frontline damage dealer -bruiser, -assassin, -dps.
