Abstract

Vorak is designed to be an AD assassin/bruiser with a build path similar to Talon or Riven. He is best suited for the jungle of Summoner’s Rift, but could viably be played mid as well. Vorak is an excellent opportunist, able to catch enemies out of position and burst them down while they are heavily slowed if he can get close enough to them. He requires time before he can global enemies, particularly for his mark to gain its full power. Similar to Rengar, he can create a very large danger zone without being vulnerable to wards due to his ability to jump long distances to marked targets.

Vorak is also arguably the first champion that could be described as an anti-splitpusher. Using his ultimate, he can jump across the map to any champion that has recently killed an ally champion or structure and usually take them down with his strong dueling power. This can turn solo splitpushing into a terror for enemy teams as Vorak can appear from anywhere on the map if they score a kill or a tower. This skill can also make Vorak himself a potent splitpusher in certain team comps, as he can join a fight from across the map much like a Shen can. However, this can often be not worth it as Vorak's ultimate requires that an ally fall before he could join a teamfight in this manner.

Lore

Vorak was once a man, an acclaimed soldier in Piltover’s army. The forces of Zaun and Piltover had been locked in a vicious war for months, sparked over an argument of land gain, and Vorak was one of many citizens of both countries that were drafted to fight for their homeland. A thin, agile man, he was a perfect fit for a Piltover assassin. As soon as he took the position, he began to deliver, stacking a body count that eventually surpassed that of any other trained killer in either army. His success quickly gained him notoriety among Zaun, and several bounties were placed for his capture.

Such a capture was finally achieved when a spy leaked information of his whereabouts to Zaunite military command. Quickly captured and brought before the leading council of Zaun, he was sentenced to becoming a test subject for Zaun’s militant science wing. Experiment after experiment was performed on him with no regard for humanity or safety, each with the goal of creating a supersoldier capable of ending the war once and for all. Finally, his body was so spent that the decision was made to relegate him to experiments with highly dangerous, untested new technology. The next day, Vorak was shoved into a testing chamber and bombarded with dark energy, harvested from the depths of the Shadow Isles. The energy drained his life force, bringing him to the brink of death. Just before the energy overwhelmed him, a stray beam hit a portion of the wall and blowing it to smithereens. The team in control of the experiment scrambled to shut off the beams, but it was too late. They watched in horror as a crow blindly flew in from the exposed outside.

The dark energy, combined with the lifeforce sucked out of Vorak, was immediately absorbed into the bird. Flashes of alternating light and darkness enveloped the room. The energy finally subsided as the scientists were able to shut off the energy to the room. Guards surged to the test chamber, only to find the door ripped open. Only one was able to turn around before they were ripped to shreds by a dark creature hiding in the shadows. Razor-sharp feathers on capelike wings decimated the building’s security forces in a whirlwind of talons and blood. What emerged from the building, leaving a trail of death in its wake, was neither man nor bird. Tall and gaunt, with the head of a crow and long arms sporting scythelike talons. Spreading its bloodstained wings, the creature raised its head and let out a terrible cry that sent citizens and soldiers of Zaun alike running inside. In a single flap of its massive wings, the mutant went soaring off into the darkness its screech had brought to the skies.

Overnight, the armies of both Piltover and Zaun were devastated. Hundreds upon hundreds of soldiers were endlessly slaughtered, cut down by the rage of the monster. It was only when the Institute of War intervened that Vorak was finally able to be contained, caged by ten of the League’s most powerful Summoners. Even then, he strained to get out day and night until finally a deal was made: in exchange for an opportunity to take revenge on the living for his curse, Vorak would peacefully remain in the Institute as a champion.

Vorak fights not for country, not for honor, but with a terrible hatred for all the people of Valoran. He feeds off the misdeeds and weakness of others, and will not rest until he has gotten revenge on every single inhabitant of Runeterra for his mutative curse.

*“That thing is not a champion. It is a monster, feeding off hatred and guilt. It is an aberration and I will see it destroyed.”*

Kit

[P] Encroaching Darkness

If a target is taking damage from Vorak (has taken damage from him within the past 0.5 seconds), their vision radius decreases by 75 every second they are under attack to a minimum of 300. This effect is immediately removed if the target has not taken damage from Vorak in at least one second. Vision from wards is not blocked, but vision from allies is.

[Q] Shadowrend 45/55/65/75/85 Mana CD: 10/9/8/7/6 seconds Range: 300

Vorak rips energy out of the target and absorbs it as shadow, dealing 65/105/145/185/225 (+ 1.2 bonus AD) physical damage. The shadow energy makes Vorak partially ethereal, causing him to take 25% reduced autoattack damage for 4 seconds.

Striking an enemy champion with Shadowrend decreases the cooldown of Slicing Wings by 1 second.

[W] Mark of Vengeance 50/60/70/80/90 Mana CD: 14/13/12/11/10 seconds

Vorak marks a target within 800 range. He gains sight of the target for the mark’s duration and moves 25% faster towards them

The mark can be triggered by Vorak’s autoattacks or ultimate, having a different effect based on how long the target has been marked: 0-1 seconds: Target is slowed by 15/20/25/30/35% for 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5 seconds and takes 35/55/75/97/115 (+0.5 bonus AD) physical damage 1-2 seconds: Target is slowed by 30/35/40/45/50% for 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5 seconds and takes 50/75/100/125/150 (+0.5 bonus AD) physical damage 2-3 seconds: Target is slowed by 20/25/30/35/40% and silenced for 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5 seconds, and takes 75/105/135/175/205 (+0.5 bonus AD) physical damage.

[E] Slicing Wings 26/28/30/32/34 mana CD: 6/5/4/3/2

Vorak strikes out in a 250 range AoE around him with razor-sharp wings, dealing 20/50/80/110/140 (+ 0.55 AD) physical damage and applying the Gash debuff to all units hit. Gash causes units to take 5% extra damage from Vorak and bleed for 10/20/30/40/50 (+0.15 AD) damage over 2.5 seconds every time they are hit by Slicing Wings (caps at 5 stacks, the damage amplification increases with stacks but the bleed damage does not).

[R] Avenger's Call 100 mana at all ranks CD: 160/130/100 seconds

Vorak lets out a global shriek, slightly darkening the screen for all players. Any enemy that has killed an ally/allied structure within the past 3 seconds gains a Mark of Vengeance.

Vorak can then select an enemy champion with a mark. He appears behind his target after a 0.5 second channel, dealing 50/100/150 (+ 100% AP) (+ 0.3 bonus AD) magic damage and detonating the mark. This ability has global range, but Vorak's teleport can be interrupted by hard crowd control.

This ability lasts 5 seconds.

Tips for playing Vorak

  • Look for kills on splitpushers by using Avenger’s Call right after they take an allied structure.
  • Using Shadowrend right after Slicing Wings can allow Vorak to use Slicing Wings twice in a short period of time.
  • Vorak scales very well off bonus AD and armor penetration, making items like Black Cleaver or Youmuu's Ghostblade highly effective on him.
  • Be wary when using Avenger's Cry near enemy champions with hard CC, as its teleport can be interrupted.

Tips for playing against Vorak

  • Vorak deals almost all physical damage, so building high armor items will make him less dangerous.
  • Be wary of Vorak once he is level 6, as he can kill you while bypassing wards if you have recently gotten a kill due to his ultimate.
  • Avoid taking objectives alone, as this allows Vorak a free Avenger’s Call on you.
  • Vorak's passive does not deny vision from wards. Keep your lane well warded to decrease his gank pressure.

Voiceover

Vorak speaks in a low, threatening, raspy voice.

Upon champion selection “They will pay for what they’ve done."

Upon attacking "No escape from vengeance.” “Cut them down.” “From the darkness.” “We will cull their herd.” “Those who hunt us shall fall.” “Death lies in wait in the sky.” “Deliver revenge.” “Behold death inexorable.” “Swift and fatal.”

Upon movement "The weakened cannot hide.” "Prey upon our foes.” "Carry death upon the wind.” "Seek them out.” "With the darkness we hunt.” “I can smell their fear.” “We have but one destination.” “Observe before striking.” "Cloaked in darkness.”

Taunt "You cannot escape what you have done.” “Your fate has been sealed since you first spilled my blood.”

This is rly kewl I suggest you find a picture or draw something like him. Also if im split pushing i only "killed" a turret if i last hit it. So i could jut let the minions get the last hit. Nice idea and original concept. I'd be nice if you looked at one of my Champion concepts as I know how hard it is to get someone to.
