Malzahar VU?

The title pretty much sums this up.

Malzahar's spells look terribly outdated, especially when compared to Kassadin's new spell animations and model (great job on that btw, Kass looks awesome now). But Malzahar's void-related spells look really bad in comparison now, and his model isn't fantastic either...

Would love a VU!

He will be. There was a Surr@20 post mentioning Yorick and Poppy reworks. A list included Malzahar with a VU. But he's pretty far down the list of 8 champions who were listed if I remember correctly. I really just want his Shadow Prince Abilities to actually be Gold coloured. It was very disappointing to be misled by the splash art.
