As a Yi Main
As a Yi main, I do agree that Yi is strong when he is fed and the enemy team has no cc. However, did you think about why is he fed? And why you don't choose some champs with cc when playing against YI?
Yi is very weak in early game. His ganks are not powerful as he has no cc. Warrior junglers
can counter his jungle easily.
Also, he need to farm his devourer
. That means he can't spend too much time on ganking. His teammates would be on disadvantage in the first 20mins.
Also, Yi don't have any poke ability. He must go all in. He must die if he can't ace the enemy team as he would be the focus. All damge and CC would be used on Yi. To counter Yi, you just need a root and a stun.
If Yi is not so strong in late game, no one would take the risk of playing Yi.
So riot, stop nerfing Yi. His kit is balanced and stable since the last rework.
What makes him op is rageblade
and fervor of battle. Pls nerf or rework them.
What I think would happen is that first riot nerfs YI, then riot find that rageblade
and fervor of battle are op. Then riot nerf them.
This means Yi is double punished, and no one would play Yi anymore.
That nerf on R really hurt. When duelling a tank, I don't think Yi is able to kill a tank in 7 seconds if that tank is not stupid. You need about 3 seconds to chase, then you only have 4 seconds to attack, which is not enough. You may argue that he has 7 seconds extension on his ult instead of 4 when he gets a kill or an assist. However, that is excessive. Have you ever seen a team fight lasting for 42 seconds? In my opinion, 10 seconds + 4 seconds per kill/assist is just balanced.
Here are my suggestions
- Revert the changes on his E and R
- Nerf rageblade from 8% AS per stack to 5% AS per stack
- Nerf fervor of battle from 1-14 bonus physical damage to 0.5-9 bonus physical damage (0.5per level). Attacking minions, monsters can also generate stacks as before.
- Rework Devourer. Similar to Rod of Ages, Devourer gain 1 stack every 30 seconds. Takedowns on rift scuttlers and champions gain 1 stack. Takedowns on dragon and baron gain 2 stack. This can encourage devourer junglers to gank, which a jungler should do, not just farming and farming.
