Ederoar The Ruined King (Character idea)
Posted this idea last year, been thinkin' about it more and think I've got it a bit more polished. So anyway...
Ederoar The Ruined King
Roles: Fighter/Tank Top/Jungle/possibly support Either uses Health or Nothing as his Secondary resource (story wise I'm leaning towards Ederoar being for the most part a normal if skilled swordsman. Health could work because it could physically be draining to use his abilities) Abilities:
One quick thing, story wise I picture this champion as having been nearly unmatched in life, talking one many army stuff, but being dead for so long has taken a toll on his fighting potential so he's more or less gotta "relearn" everything. His active abilities ALL have some sort of passive because of this. And a few of them have a couple different names, which will be in parentheses couldn't decide which one I liked most
Hail to the King (Passive): Part one Ederoar gains bonus armor and magic resist on kills and assists, this bonus is increased and decreased per takedown based on how much gold Ederoar would've earned if he got the kill. About 1 armor and resist per 100 gold. For example, if an enemy champion is on a rampage (would therefore give 500 gold) Ederoar would get 5 armor and resist if he scores the killing blow or gets an assist. Part two Ederoar gains Hail to the king as he kills minions and/or Jungle monsters, upon reaching X amount (say 50) his armor and magic resist is increased by Y (say 3). Not all minions or jungle mobs give the same amount. By default Normal minions > Siege/super minions > small jungle mobs > large jungle mobs > Dragon > Baron Nashor. Dragon and Nashor both give him stacks as long as both he was involved in killing them, AND his team kills them. Executing a minion with Relic Shield, Targon's Brace or Face of the Mountain gives massively more stacks (this way if he is supporting his passive isn't nearly useless since aside from that he shouldn't be killing minions).
Q - King takes Pawn (Double Edged Sword): Passive: Ederoar gains bonus AD per rank ( 4% or 5%) Active: (Skillshot) Ederoar throws his sword, ignoring minions and small monsters. Upon hitting an enemy champion or Large Jungle monster, the target takes physical damage (increased by AD) and is rooted for a short duration. After the root wears off Ederoar charges the area dealing damage based on his bonus armor and magic resist and stunning them. The damage and duration of the stun increases per rank. If it doesn't connect Ederoar loses the bonus AD from the passive until it comes off cooldown.
W - Savage Kick:
Passive: Ederoar gains bonus movement speed per rank ( 4-6 per rank)
Active: Ederoar delivers a savage kick with his next auto attack stunning the target for a short duration, then slowing them for a few seconds. The amount the slow....slows the target down and damage is increased by rank. (It's not a kick to the groin, he's aiming for the knees the majority of the time, trying to keep his opponent from running. But against a smaller champion such as SatanTeemo or Fizz a kick to the face would work pretty well too.)
E - Taste for Flesh: Passive: Ederoar gains bonus Lifesteal per rank (2% or 3%) Active: Ederoar gains bonus attack speed and movement speed for a short duration. (Simply a steroid to help him fight)
I had three (3) different ideas for an ultimate for him so I'll just post each one, I liked each of them just can't decide which one I like more.
R- Protect the Weak: Passive: Ederoar gains bonus attack speed per rank (25-50% per rank? Honestly don't know about how much attack speed would be werf without being stupid op) Active: Ederoar projects a shield around himself (think Maokai's ult) Redirecting a X% of all damage nearby allies take to himself. The damage they take is reduced by a flat % but the damage he take is reduced by his armor and/or magic resist. (If an ally gets hit for 250 with enough armor to reduce it to 200, and the rank of Ederoar's ultimate redirects 25%, his ally would take 150, while Ederoar has enough armor to reduce it by 50% he'd take 25 damage. While Ederoar is using this ability he refuses to die if an ally is nearby. However if his Health would be reduced to 0 he WILL die after the effect wears off. (No amount of healing or lifesteal will save him. Zileans ult or a GA would prevent him from dying however)
R - Rise from Your Grave:
Passive: Ederoar gains bonus attack speed per rank (25-50% per rank?)
Active: Ederoar channels for 3 seconds to bring a nearby ally back from the dead. During this time he is immune to any and all crowd control but takes bonus damage and cannot cancel the effect. Upon finishing his cast all nearby enemies get stunned for a short duration. (Alright for this one I'm thinking the extra damage he takes starts at 75% but drops by 25% per rank so at rank 3 he would still take 25% bonus damage. His target comes back with half mana/energy; anything else such as fury or ferocity is at 0 when they come back unless it's something they start with upon respawning in the base. They come back with 50% hp at rank one, 75% at rank 2, and 100% at rank 3. The main reason for the short stun is so his ally can attempt to get away. Also is near melee range.)
R - Checkmate Passive: Ederoar gains bonus attack speed per rank (25-50% per rank?) Active: After a short channel (.5-1.5 seconds) Ederoar pulls all nearby enemy champions towards him while stunning them for a short duration (2 seconds max). Ederoar gains a % of his max health as a shield per enemy champion affected (10%-15%-20% for each rank)
Any number are just what I thought sounded decent at the time, but I'm not a game designer, chances are some of these are kind of OP and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't bias.
Backstory:
I'm not a game designer, nor am I a writer but here's the basic story for Ederor (and some reason for his abilities).
King of the land now known as the Shadow Isles, fought at the front line with his troops. A few of whom are champions (Kalista, Hecarim; whom was a human, Mordekaiser; whom was Ederoar's right hand man and best friend. Thresh was also there but wasn't a soldier, was a jailor and interrogator for Ederoar's kingdom.) Preferred to settle problems with words but was more than willing to fight. Was nearly constantly at war with a neighboring kingdom but always hope for peace.
Was happily married. He was betrayed from within and his wife was murdered (was also pregnant at the time). The neighboring kingdom was framed and Ederoar led a genocidal rampage wiping them off the face of Valoran. After this finds out Hecarim was involved and executes him. Shortly after this he was told that it was possible to bring his wife back to life, but it would be dangerous. Yadda yadda fun stuff happens it goes bad.... Boom. Ederoar was at ground zero which is why he hasn't been a champ. Even though most of the denizens of the Shadow Isles are insane and/or evil, they do still feel some loyalty to Ederoar. Mordekaiser gathers most of the Shadow Isles champions to help resurrect Ederoar (he's able to convince Kalista not to kill Hecarim very carefully.) Each champ bring something needed to bring Ederoar back. (Some souls from Thresh, a spear from Kalista, Yorick helps find some of his bones, the pieces of Ederoar's crown from Mordekaiser, a piece of Ederoar's armor from Hecarim, while Karthus is the one to actually do the spell).
Appearance and Personality:
I'd draw what I want him to look like but I'm pretty bad at drawing so you know...
He's missing the flesh from his left arm (just bone), along with part of the left half of his face, if you've seen The Mummy think Imotep when he's almost back to full strength but with just bone underneath. Sickly blue skin, hair isn't too important but kind of pictured long blueish hair. Also has part of his armor missing. Has a fancy crown (which his soul is bound to, i.e. it's his Soul Jar). Dark heavy plate armor with bits and pieces burned through to reveal bone.
View the living as little more than potential soldiers, but is friendly to nearly all undead, even those not aligned with the Shadow Isles. Affable even if he doesn't like someone (not quite Tahm Kench, he's not friendly for the sake of killing someone, he's just a generally polite guy, even if he's a monster on the outside).
Anyway lemme know what you think, got home from work and typed this up, will probably spell chick it and such over the next few days
