Hey all! I'm currently a college student but aspire to become a game developer in the future. I've always loved the idea of creating league champions and figured it would be good beginner practice to try and create a champion kit. This design was just a week of hypothetical brainstorming and obviously I cant prototype or test any of these abilities so damage values aren't really stated for the most part. I would love all feedback from everyone, let me know if you think the champion is too OP in nature or the kit isn't unique enough or whatever crosses your mind as you review the post. Thanks for reading.

Champion name- Woden

Quick Lore Idea- Champion is a darkin whip/sword(think of pre-rework Aatrox weapon but more focus on whip ability) that has possessed a powerful host for thousands of years. This particular darkin has a deep hatred for most “legends” as it believes many “legends” are not worthy of the title, making them prime targets. Commentary: My design goal for this champion is to really drive home the idea of an extremely powerful darken sword/whip that looks to hunt legends/champions.

The key ability of this kit is the ultimate, as my main gameplay goal for Woden is that he can paralyze enemy champions, leaving them extremely vulnerable if he is able to land a series of hits/abilities in succession on the opponent. I’m aiming for Woden to be a mix between an assassin and a brawler, kind of similar to Sylas. I imagine his weapon as a close range sword primarily, so his non-ultimate abilities should be close range, with his ultimate being the only time where the true power of the darkin whip is unleashed.

My goals for Woden’s strengths-

High skill champion that takes great mastery Strong in small skirmishes, preferably against one champion. Decent mobility that allows Woden to pursue over-extended enemies. Gains the advantage in extended fights. Ultimate ability provides powerful cc that can take down any opponent if passive condition is met. Split pushing Strong against mana champions. Strong mid to late game

My goals for Woden’s weaknesses-

Weak wave clear early as a melee champion. Low survivability against multiple champions, especially finds team fights non-optimal. Vulnerable against ranged champions early. Matchups against non-mana champions Little or no escapability Weak early game

ABILITIES:

Passive- Each attack and ability that hits an enemy champion every 5/4/3 seconds drains mana and gives Woden a shield-Mana drain and shield amount increase every 3 levels.

Q cool down 12 seconds- Woden slashes his darkin sword dealing (x) damage, if Woden hits an enemy champion or kills a minion the ability cool down is lowered to 2/1/0 seconds— I imagine the skill shot as a thin curved half circle that is challenging to hit consistently and can be dodged.

W Cool down 8/6/5 seconds- Woden dashes to an enemy champion at 6/5/4 stacks of unworthy and thrusts his sword into them dealing (X) damage and adding 2 stacks of unworthy.

E- Woden slams down his sword dealing (100/200/300) damage. This damage is increased by the 300% if casted on a "paralyzed" champion.

Ultimate Ability- No cool down

Passive: Woden’s attacks and abilities on the same enemy champions power his darkin weapon, adding stacks of “unworthy” to each enemy respectively. These stacks add up to a max of (12/10/8) and the stack resets to 0 if out of combat for 4 seconds.

Active: If an enemy reaches the max stacks of “unworthy”, Woden can unleash the true form of his darkin whip, thrashing it around the enemy champion paralyzing them—Point and click with a radius of about 6 minions.

“paralyze” leaves an enemy champion collapsed, completely unable to move, cast abilities, or use items for 6/8/10 seconds.
