Are hybrid champions going extinct?

It seen that their are less and less hybrid champions after each rework and the seem to not be making more... The PBE show that eveyln one of the best hybrid champs is going to go full ap with the rework. So the question what should the future of hybrid champs be? I am not limiting it to ad/ap hybrids, urgot lost his mana scaling with his rework and sion lost almost all his ap scaling he had before his rework. I don't think that any champ should be good regardless of what you build, but I also don't believe that they should only have 1 optimized build.

Side not the mechanics with the reworks are very good.

I am personally ok with the removal of hybrid champions over time, at least most of them. Let's face it, many champions are getting reworked because they are hard to balance in their current state.

And making a champion scaling with just one damage type is easier to balance. If you create an AD champion, you just have to look at AD itemization and can balance accordingly, AP vice versa. But if a champion is hybrid, it basically means that this champion is able to utilise every item in the game. And it is harder to balance that, if the AD build is balanced out, people can just shift over to an AP build. And these champions can "abuse" current metas better.

I think some champions will keep their hybrid identity, like Akali. But they surely will make it a very rare niche.

I feel like Gangplank should become more hybrid than he is

Riot needs to also try some hybrid items but Fighter items are like really bad and where hybrid items should be with their stats. item 3053 ad is as bad as hybrid items ad should be steraks has about 30-35 base ad you gain a hybird item should have about 40 ad 60-70 ap 350 - 400 ap and an active / passive. fighter and Hybrid champions need stronger items who cares if it costs trinity force Infinity edge Rabadons death cap type of cash. Also hybrid champions scale off of attack speed in alot of cases and riot took all the attack speed items from fighters except item 3153 item 3078 which is pretty pitiful ad lost its ap and depending on if you had mana or not had wasted stats and item 3124 is pretty much a kog maw item. in addition to defensive items being made weaker hybrid champions cant afford sub out offense for defense or else you cant really consider them as doing hybrid damage. like how fighters stopped getting ad and are basicly tanks but with black cleaver which is mostly tank but a damage passive and same with titanic mostly tank but with a damage passive.

Oddly enough, Ornn scales off of AD on Q, AP on R, Armor/MR on E, and 0 scaling on W. He's hella hybrid, really *rofl
