Private profiles

Personally I am a player that do not enjoy ranked, since I don't like to get evaluated on how well I play a game that I play for fun, and since I just don't feel up for the consequences of losing or winning games (Counting out the horrible looking banners). But there is also a downside to being like me, harassment. I am getting so sick of players pestering me and calling me stupid with my rank as a reason.

And hell, even if I was challenger I would still not want people to know my rank as though it heightens the expactations people would have towards me as well as the fact that the only actual benefit of higher ranks, apart from self satisfaction and the banners, is the bragging rights.

In light of this, I would love some more customizability around banners. You can change them in the files, but that won't change them for the opponents. There is also the advantage of sites like "LolNexus" where opponents can know your approximate skill based on your rank, which is absolute shit, especially when your opponent retaliates and calls you a noob Gold or whatever. Not to mention the "You just got lucky".

Unless you are certain you will get a high rank, you really enjoy the banners and you love competition a lot, I really don't see how anyone would actually like to play ranked.

True, LoL is a competitive game, but before the competitiveness it is a game, games are made to have fun, not lash out at fellow players and discriminate the unskilled.

In my case I love the competition, hence I would love to play ranked as though it gets harder as I go, but I do not wish for the banner or for any bragging rights whatsoever. Especially not the discrimination if I end up in bronze as well as the ranked stereotype (The expectations that come with).

In light of this, assuming it is correct for some people, I would love to propose a "Private profile" feature.

Some features can be for example "Only accessible by you", "Only accessable by you and your friends", "Public", "Banner Toggle", "Mastery toggle", and the list goes on. Hell, you could even put in a small loading screen "Private" icon to prevent people from thinking you were bronze or unranked last season.

There are even several other advantages. Do you have an emberrasing losing streak? Don't fret, make it private! You could even make it more custuomizable by for example toggling what you wish to set private. Like for example mastery, rank, match history and so on.

I am fairly certain that Riot employees read the boards, so please do put some consideration into it, unless there is a purpose behind public profiles, I really do believe you can make something out of it.
