Quick question(s) for anyone!^-^

So at my second High school I'm in a 3d animation and game design class and our newest project is to create, 3d model, and animate a super hero or villain demonstrating their powers. So I'm a little stuck on what kind of character I should bring to life. I thought what better way than to ask around my favorite game community. League has an amazing talent for creating pretty cool characters and quickly developing them!:D So here's my question(s): ~Is there any tips on how to design a character? (like do you chose their ability/lore first and design from there or vice versa.) ~Do you choose there location of origin? ~Anyone have any cool ideas for a character?:D ~any interesting ways you get ideas? ~And just a silly question, What's your favorite Hero, Anti-hero, or villain you ever seen? (video game/movie/comic/manga/Tv show/Anime/book/you name it) - Why are they your favorite? (was it their outfit, design, power/ability, weapon, personality, or what?)

Thanks for reading guys! Hope to see some feed back! :D

Think of many different things. Pile them together to create a character. Read lots of stories for ideas (but don't copy!) And have fun! :3

In regard to League, I come up with a premise, and then upto three different backstories for them. I use these to flesh out the character, and let the story develop itself, rather than leading it towards a specific end.

While doing this, I come up with a kit, and once everything is fleshed out, I start on my texture, and when that's done, I start modelling.

While modelling, I tend to start with the eye. I work from there to create the head, then the neck, then the torso, hip and leg. After that, I start on the arm, and then duplicate and mirror the completed right side, modifying either one as necessary, and adding things overtop.

When it comes to design, I constantly jump from one defining feature to another. Generally, I will incorporate a few of the others, as low-key design elements. Keep in mind, I am entirely self taught, and am an admittedly bad texture artist, but this method works wonders for me, and now that I've practiced it enough, the whole process has been streamlined, allowing me to be as creative as I want, and focus solely on that.

This might come off as an underhanded plug, but this is Pike, my latest League of Legends creation, in a rough, nearly-finished stand animation. Hopefully seeing the end result can help. http://i.imgur.com/RhnPbj1.gif
