Bilos--The Fractured Persona
So, I'm just going to begin by saying that, if you're looking for specific numbers (scaling percentages, cooldowns, base attack damage, etc.), you've come to the wrong champion concept. I'm shooting more for the ideas and concepts because I'm crap at balancing. So, I guess I'll just dive in.
Passive--Fractured Persona: Every now and then, Bilos will involuntarily switch modes. For simplicity's sake, I'll call the two modes AD Mode and AP Mode. While in AD Mode, Abilities scale off of Bonus Attack Damage. However, while in AP Mode, not only will Abilities scale off of Ability Power, but also basic attacks will use Ability Power instead of Bonus Attack Damage (and vice versa for items like Nashor's Tooth). The time between switches should be long enough that the player isn't in a constant state of flux, but should be short enough that the player doesn't just end up with just one or two switches per match. There's also the potential to make some thing or things increase or decrease time (Cooldown Reduction, Ability hits enemy, Attack Speed, etc.), as well as the potential to make Basic Attacks use the opposite stat as Abilities. Q--Volition: Damage dealing skillshot; nothing special (Think Ezreal's Q) W--Haptic Perception: Short dash that stops at first enemy hit; damages and knocks them back (Think Gragas's E) E--Confirmation Bias: Targeted damage dealing ability (Think Annie's Q) R--Cognitive Dissonance: Fires a beam of damage-dealing energy in the target direction (think Lux's R). Simultaneously, a second and equal damage-dealing beam is fired in the opposite direction; this second beam acts as if whatever Mode the player is NOT in.
For this champion to work properly, the abilities would all have to scale way better than would at first seem reasonable. The reason for this is the passive. Basically, the most common type of build on this champ would be some hybrid of Attack Damage and Ability Power. This means that the player will have less of each of these stats and can only use both of them on the Ult. An alternate build would be to only build one of these two stats. This player would be super deadly about half the time and pretty underpowered the other half.
If this champion seems sort of rushed and last-minute put-together, you're partly right. I originally envisioned this champion as "The Twin Souls." Then Riot released Kindred...a pair of spirits in one champion...
For what I hope are obvious reasons, I changed the base concept of this champion while maintaining the duality. After all, Riot would never release two champions with the same concept and idea that aren't meant to be direct rivals, right? (ahem,
, cough
)
