Thoughts about the new upload on youtube from Greg Street
I pretty much agree on all factors that he described as necessary about a succesfull champion. But i have to completely disagree with something: always requiring skill, especially on fhampion that they are about to get updaded. Let me explain myself. I disagree with that factor, because, first of all, if the majority of the champions are requiring skill, they aren't always exciting to abuse since the difficulty on the champion might turn out to be annoying for some people, especially the new ones. Don't get me wrong, there is always a lot of satisfaction for a champion, especially if he's new, when it takes skill to play, cause the champion will be overloaded and will make interested and will make u sit down and master him and put time and work to improve your skills on him, but that's not always the case with most player. The majority of players want to main lots of champions and as much fast is possible, because they want to raise their lp in slo queau or they don't have the time to sit down and put so much effort onto a champion only and riot should definetely respect this. Hear, this factor, that in my opinion shouldn't always be considered, especially for champion updates, leaves me into my next point which is uniqueness. Making every champion almost to require skill, bad players or players that they are competitive and they want to win( i'm refering to ranked play especially), that they always want the fastest and safest way to enjoy the game, will have no reason to exist, but only players like faker and lcs players that they look the skill will be benefited, where they don't represent the majority of the player base.
A lot of people may thought that a champion that rewards skill is balanced to play. Champions that they reward skill and are difficult to play, tend to have overloaded kits to cover this weakness and give players a lot of choices. However time has passed and this has proven bad, since when these type of champions are played into their maximum potential, become so powerfull with the tools that they have in their kit that they become unstopable and almost impossible to play against( think champion like lee sin and azir and even the current Ryze). This factor causes riot to nerf them into the ground and probably, even entire pieces and utility from their kit to balance them only for the small and skilled community of the player base ( like pros), leaving the majority of the player base to deal with an even more difficult champion to play, due to the amount of nerfs that he has received, making him much more difficult to work in the game, especially in the hands of an average player, causing even further balanced issues.
So all in all, skillshots and amazing rockets and execute abilities are hilarious, but the targeted ones aren't that bad in a lot of cases either.
I know that league is supposed to be the game of skills, but riot better come through the real side of the things and understand that that's not always the case.
