##Abilities
[P] Fortune Smiles
Kanae periodically adds (30 - 132) (+30% AP) bonus magic damage to the next instance of damage she inflicts. If the target is a champion, Kanae restores (15 - 66) (+15% AP) health to herself and nearby allies with Providence.
Maiden’s Favour: Allies can purchase Incense from the store for 40 Gold, which goes directly to Kanae. Upon consumption, the champion receives ‘Providence’ for 3 minutes. Whenever Kanae readies her passive, she grants 33% of the bonus damage to nearby champions with Providence.
The shop carries 1 stick of incense for each allied champion, which is re-stocked after 90 seconds.
Static Cooldown: 16 - 6 Seconds Range: 675
Notes: When attached to a basic attack, Fortune Smiles counts as an on-hit effect and counts as an additional spell if attached to a spell.
[Q] Talisman of Power
Kanae tosses a paper tag, dealing magic damage to all enemies it touches. Upon colliding with a champion, epic monster or terrain, the tag will attach to it for 1.25 seconds, causing nearby enemies to flee for 0.5 seconds.
Damage: 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 (+60% AP) Cost: 50 / 55/ 60 / 65 / 70 Mana Cooldown: 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 Seconds Range: 875 Terrify AOE Radius: 175 Projectile Width: 125 Projectile Speed:1600
Note: Enemies will flee from the tag, rather than from Kanae. The tag will remain stuck to a unit on the spot it hits (ignores turning), causing them to run in a line away from the point of contact if it attaches to an enemy. The talisman will refresh the flee effect every 0.25 seconds while an enemy is in the AOE.
[W] Twin Virtues
After a brief delay, Kanae fires a blast of energy that stops upon colliding with another unit, dealing magic damage if it’s an enemy and restoring health if it’s an ally.
When Twin Virtues hits a champion, its next cast is empowered. If the target was an enemy, the amount of health restored is amplified. If the target was an ally, the damage dealt is amplified.
Kanae can hover the cursor over an allied champion to lock onto them. While locked on, the blast will ignore other allied units.
Base Damage: 60 / 80 / 100 / 120 / 140 (+40% AP) Base Heal: 40 / 55 / 70 / 85 / 100 (+20% AP) Amplification Amount: 50% / 62.5% / 75% / 87.5% / 100% Cost: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 Cooldown: 8 / 7.5 / 7 / 6.5 / 6 Seconds Range: 1175 Projectile Speed: 3000 Projectile Width: 75
Notes: Enemies can still intercept Twin Virtues when it’s locked onto an ally.
[E] Hallowed Ground
Passive: Kanae’s damaging abilities mark enemies with Forbiddance for 1.5 seconds.
Kanae blesses the ground around her for 5 seconds, granting nearby allies a shield while they remain inside.
Enemies marked with Forbiddance can’t enter the blessed area by any means. Marking an enemy inside the blessed area will push them to the edge of the area.
Shield: 40 / 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 (+40% AP) Cost: 80 / 85 / 90 / 95 / 100 Mana Cooldown: 24 / 22 / 20 / 18 / 16 Seconds AOE Radius: 375 (+40% AP)
Notes: The push that occurs when you mark an enemy inside the AOE is NOT crowd control. It will not interrupt actions already occurring, it will not trigger Yasuo’s ultimate and it can’t be blocked by CC immunity.
[R] Rite of Fiend-Slaying
Kanae summons a candle at target location for 6 seconds that deals magic damage to nearby enemies and slows them. For up to 8 seconds, Kanae can re-cast Rite of Fiend-Slaying up to 2 times. Targets take 25% damage from each candle beyond the first.
After placing all 3 candles, Kanae can re-activate this ability to stun all enemies caught within the triangular area between them for 1.5 seconds.
Damage Per Second: 50 / 80 / 110 (+50% AP) Slow: 35% / 40% / 45% (+5% per 100 AP) Cost: 100 Mana Cooldown: 150 / 120 / 90 Seconds Static Cooldown: 0.75 seconds Cast Range: 975 AOE Radius: 250
Notes: The static cooldown occurs between each cast of this ability, including the final stun.

##Lore
Quick Bio After she banished their guardian spirit in a fit of anger, the eternally youthful mage, Kanae has secretly stood watch over the village of Longxi for centuries. Though unwilling to suffer fools at the best of times and easily exasperated by the sometimes small-minded requests of her charges, neither monsters, nor storms, nor invading Noxians have managed to touch those she shelters.
"Don’t pray. Help."
Full Bio
There’s an enduring image in the heads of most traditional Ionians, of the wandering medium; the infinitely patient and accommodating spiritualist that soothes angered spirits and wards off encroaching demons. Most who’ve met her find it hard to reconcile such a saint-like figure with the irascible, oft lethargic Akari Kanae, caretaker of Longxi Temple and, supposedly, the only individual worthy of speaking to the Temple’s namesake deity. Many suppose that her century-spanning tenure has left her drained and callous, enough that she only invokes Longxi in the direst of circumstances.
A fair assumption, but mostly incorrect.
Kanae became a medium more out of spite than anything else. The last in a long line of powerful mages, she had an incredible talent for the art. Despite this, she had little time for the philosophy lessons her father tried to impart alongside the magic. He was an infuriatingly traditional sort, who insisted on being showed the proper respect, and insisted that bettering oneself was its own reward. Their line had always been reclusive and secretive, loyal only to the family name. Kanae’s natural instinct to do something -anything-- with her magic was a constant source of friction. After years of tension and slowly building resentment, Kanae decided she could stand no more. Without a word, she vanished into the night, deciding to find her own way in the world. Becoming a medium seemed the natural option in her head.
To become a medium, one usually had to spend years at a temple, learning the proper etiquette and mannerisms around spirits. Kanae had barely seen a temple since she was small, but really, that didn’t matter. There was no grand governing body of such things; you were a medium if you called yourself a medium and you could do the job. And while Kanae wasn’t much for the diplomatic approach, she had little need for it. While most mediums needed kind words and the right bait to coax a spirit to their circles, Kanae could simply force one to manifest. While many only knew the rote patterns for binding seals, Kanae could turn an average summoning circle into a spiritual guillotine with little more than a thought. In her head, she could see how to make it work.
Unfortunately, the spirits weren’t the problem.
As thankful as some were, to be rid of a spectre, or to be warded against trespassers, Kanae found herself in a constant state of poverty. Though she was a capable enough mage to sustain herself, the general lack of material gratitude grated on her. Such things always punctuated the stories she’d heard, yet it seemed only those who had been in clear and immediate danger were ever willing to reciprocate. Many more would take umbrage with her occasionally acerbic remarks, when they approached her with requests that they’d realise clearly had nothing to do with the spirits, if they simply used the brains for a moment.
After years of such responses, frustrated yet defiant, Kanae came across the village of Longxi. Despite a generally run down appearance, the people were surprisingly generous to Kanae, willing to share food and shelter almost immediately. Once she heard their plight, it was quite obvious why. For months, the village had been beset by bandits from the mountains. Though the village was ostensibly under the protection of a powerful guardian spirit, even his own temple hadn’t been safe. Now it stood empty, ransacked and abandoned.
Regardless of any ulterior motives, Kanae refused to allow such a response to go unrewarded. Unfortunately, this was a task she was thoroughly unsuited for. Longxi was neither an enemy to be vanquished, nor a weak spirit that would accept being muscled around. Thus, Kanae’s attempt to help was fumbling and ultimately disastrous.
Longxi’s arrival to the summoning circle was an act of pomp and circumstance unbecoming of the run down temple. An explosion of fire and smoke, akin to a set of festival fireworks. That Kanae didn’t seem suitably impressed was an immediate mark against her. That Kanae immediately launched into her questions with only the barest of pleasantries was another. Feeling suitably insulted, Longxi decided to wind Kanae up.
The conversation lasted hours, yet barely progressed. Never did the dragon spirit seem to give Kanae a straight answer and changed topics on a whim. He’d ignore most questions, and give conflicting answers on others. Then, when Kanae asked her base question for maybe the fifth time...
“I didn’t feel like it.”
It was at this point that Kanae lost her temper.
Instinctively, Kanae sundered the circle, as she would when banishing a demon. It only took a moment for horror to dawn upon both spirit and mage, as the circle stripped the former of both power and physical presence, consigning him to the realms beyond. While Kanae immediately attempted to undo her error, it was far too late. Though she could hold onto the spirit’s power, the spirit itself slipped through the rift in the world and was gone.
At first, Kanae was gobsmacked, unsure as to how her task went so poorly. Unused to such a failure, it took her some time to process the possibility. Self-recriminations abounded; for once, when she wished to help those who had actually shown generosity, she only managed to make things worse. Then, her mind turned to what would happen next. What would the villagers think? What would they do without their guardian?
Then, an idea came to her. She latched onto it with both hands.
If she could be the one who dealt with the bandits...
If she could be the one who protected the village...
If no-one needed to actually call upon Longxi...
Well, her screw up wouldn’t matter, right?
