Kain, the Flesh Eater
Kain is an ex-Demacian soldier who brings down pain on his opponents in the League as a melee assassin. Strong is middle lane or in the jungle, he can be a powerful killer and a great addition to the team. His ultimate deals a lot of damage, and he can deal a good amount of true damage as well, leaving even tanky opponents in shreds.
Lore: Kain was a soldier in the Demacian army. With his leather gloves with Demacian steel claws and dragon scale plating, he ripped all who opposed Demacia to pieces. He killed enemy after enemy, rising in the ranks, near the top. His dragon scale plating even still had magic in it from the dragon, and would shoot fire after being struck. However, one day, his troop was ambushed by Noxian soldiers. He watched as every last soldier was killed, until there were none left. He ripped Noxians apart as much as he could, but he couldn’t kill them fast enough. His speed and resolve made it so they couldn’t beat him, but he had to rip through enemy after enemy. It was a small group, just large enough that he couldn’t finish them all before they killed his allies, but small enough that once his comrades were all dead, he could finish the Noxian force himself. He killed every last one. However, he knew his fallen soldiers deserved a more proper burial than they would get if he left them here. Even if they weren’t going anywhere, if he left them, he wouldn’t be able to find his way back to them to bring them the burial they deserved. And so, he waited. He waited. Hours turned to days, days to weeks, still nobody came. They were probably searching, but unable to find him. Yet. As he didn’t know much about hunting or using a bow, and he was armed only with his claws, he knew he wouldn’t have much time before he ran out of the rations he had. He waited nearly a month, and finally, he was out of food and too hungry to continue waiting. He gave into his hunger. He looked at the corpses of the Noxians, and even they looked pretty delicious with how long it had been since he ate. He was driven to madness in the hunger before he finally decided to pick apart the Noxians, eating one of their corpses so that he could finally feel sated. Help finally came a week after he would’ve starved to death had he not eaten the Noxian corpses. Seeing what he had done, they brought him and the bodies back to Demacia, and his comrades got the burial they deserved. He, however, was stripped of his rank and dishonorably discharged from the Demacian army. But his madness persisted. Wendigo Psychosis is a mental condition where, after partaking in human flesh, many creatures will continue to eat it over their natural food when other, better options are available. He got this psychosis after his ordeal. He killed and ate citizens of Demacia, and was eventually caught. He was imprisoned for years, but he eventually broke out. He came to the League of Legends, so he could kill and eat flesh without being imprisoned.
Passive: Bloody Benefits He uses Hunger as a resource instead of mana. Using his abilities will raise his hunger, up to a cap of 300. If using an ability would put his hunger over the cap, he can’t use it. He gains a buff to his AD equal to 1 per 10 hunger. If he has more than 200 hunger, he also gains a movement speed buff when moving towards enemy champions with under 40% HP. Killing anything will drop a corpse on the ground, which he can eat by right clicking on it. Eating takes 1 second. Eating a minion or small jungle monster will lower his hunger by 60, eating a large jungle monster will reduce it by 120, and eating a champion will reset his hunger. He also gains Bloodthirst after killing any enemy, a buff that gives varying amounts of AD and movement speed, and as it persists, his next basic attack on an enemy marked by his E will dash him to the target and the E cooldown is reset to 1.5 seconds. Buffs: Tier 1: Minions: 20 Movement Speed, 10 AD, 400 jump range. Lasts 3 seconds. Tier 2: Jungle Monsters: 150 Movement Speed, 10% Missing Health heal, 600/650/700/750/800 (Based on E rank), jump range. Movement Speed buff will immediately be removed upon entering combat. Lasts 10 seconds. Tier 3: Champions: 40 Movement Speed, 20 AD, 400 jump range. Lasts 5 seconds. Finally, eating anything while you already have a buff will set the buff to the lowest tier among what you’ve eaten, but reset the time of the first thing you ate. For example, eating a jungle monster then, then a minion within 10 seconds will give you the tier 1 buff lasting 10 seconds instead of 3.
Q: Clawed Assault He targets a very small cone in front of him, attacking all enemies and attacking the single enemy closest to the center a second time, dealing 50% of the initial damage in the second hit. All enemies hit are slowed, but the one hit twice is stunned instead. Damage: 90/115/140/165/180 (+80% Bonus AD) Gives: 30/40/50/60/70 Hunger Cooldown: 12 seconds, reduced by 0.5 seconds per basic attack or 2 seconds per basic attack on an enemy champion.
W: Dragonscale’s Rage He blocks the next attack from the front within 0.5 seconds. Then, if an attack was blocked, he will shoot a fireball out of his gloves in a line, dealing damage to the first enemy hit. If it hits a champion, it will stun them. Damage: 80/90/100/110/120 (+60% AP) magic damage Gives: 40 Hunger Cooldown: 20 seconds
E: Hunger’s Mark He marks a target from 400 range or range equal to his jump, if his jump range is higher. His next basic attack on the marked target will deal bonus true damage. If used twice on a within a single Bloodthirst, it will not dash and will deal physical damage instead of true damage. Damage: 2/3/4/5/6% (+1% for every 60 AD) of target’s current health OR, if used once in the Bloodthirst already, 100/120/140/160/180 (+40% AD) physical damage Gives: 20 Hunger Cooldown: 14 seconds, reduced to 1.5 if the mark was triggered by dashing.
R: Rip to Shreds He targets an enemy at melee range, suppressing them for 2 seconds while he brutally strikes them with his claws, dealing 4 instances of physical damage. Before each instance triggers, he will get a prompt to press a random button (Q, W, E, or R). If he presses it at the right time, ½ the damage dealt from that attack is converted into true damage. In addition, each attack he times properly will throw a piece of flesh onto the ground. He can walk over the piece of flesh to eat it instantly, gaining a very small, but stacking, AD and movement speed buff. He can also dash to any enemy, marked by E or not, at 400 range with this. Damage per hit: 100/125/150 (+100/110/120% AD) Gives: 0 Hunger (but requires at least 200 Hunger to use. What I mean by that is that you have to have 200 Hunger available, not be missing 200 Hunger.) Cooldown: 80 seconds
As for art, I'm probably not going to do a drawing of him. I tried one and it didn't turn out like I wanted it to, so I'm just gonna leave it open. The only real idea for how he should look I have in my head is clawed gloves and a mask that looks similar to the anime character Kaneki Ken's, from Tokyo Ghoul, but with no eye patch and very sharp teeth. Honestly, this whole concept was loosely based off of the ghouls in Tokyo Ghoul and the legendary Native American creature, the Wendigo (which anyone who's watched playthroughs of or played themselves Until Dawn would be very familiar with. Shouldn't come as a surprise that the Wendigo in Until Dawn is based off of the same creature as this concept is.)
As always, any constructive criticism is always welcome and appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read my concept!
Now if only I could figure out how to use Blender... I'd make him an animation... It's honestly something I've been wanting to do for several of my concepts, but I don't think I ever would even if I could figure that program out. Just not enough hours in a day, ya know?
