[Champion Concept] Curie, The Paradigm of Reflection
Curie, The Paradigm of Reflection Ranged mage/support/tank
Lore Curie was brought up by a single father after her mother passed away. When her father learned of her transgender nature, he decided to disown her. But worse, he decided to sell her to a travelling circus to a warped clown.
For years she traveled the lands providing cheap entertainment. "Here is the man who thinks he is a woman!" the ring master would mock. But finally she met the man who would not only set her mind free, but also give her a chance to seek out revenge against all who had wronged her by showing them to be the beasts they truly are.
Abilities
Passive Curie is able to attack all units and structures who are under the "Reflective" status effect, including her own allies. The auto attack itself deals no damage when it hits a "reflective" unit, but rather turns into a new projectile which is launched towards the nearest enemy champion. If no enemy champions are present, then it launches at the nearest enemy minion. If neither are present, it is launched towards the enemy nexus. The projectile has a decent speed, making it difficult to dodge at close range, but not as much so at further ranges.
Q - Ping Pong Curie momentarily aims and shoots a small white lazer beam. If it hits an enemy champion, it is damaged, stunned for .5 seconds and given the "reflective" status for 1 second. The beam will bounce off the target at the angle it hits. If after hitting an enemy the beam then hits another unit or structure with "reflective" it will explode into five new beams and reduce the remaining cooldown on Ping Pong by 70%. Beams are global and travel the length of the map.
W - Mirror Images After a short cast time, Curie creates four mirror images, two standing to her left and two to her right. These images move with her, but are not controllable, nor do they attack. Each separate image provides Curie with 10/12/14/17/20% damage reduction. A mirror image can be targeted by auto attacks, and will die after one auto attack. After casting, Curie may cast W again to swap places with one of her images.
E - Shiny Things Curie targets self or an allied unit or structure and applies a "Reflective" buff for seven seconds. Units buffed by "Reflective" become chrome in color. This buff allows targeted unit to reflect damage from up to 1/2/3/4/5 auto attacks after which the buff will wear off. It does not affect spells. Allied Champions hit by Ping Pong while under the "Reflective" buff also gain 10/15/20/25/30% movement speed for 3 seconds.
R - A True Reflection Curie targets a nearby enemy champion and mirrors that champion's form. Then both the champion and curie are engulfed within their own translucent spheres which guides them towards each other over a two second period. While inside the sphere, both champions are still able to launch auto attacks and spells and to take damage, but are not able to exit the moving sphere. The spheres continue to move towards each other regardless of any status effects such as stun. Once the two spheres merge, the two images become a single champion with an amount of hit points equal to half of the total hitpoints of both champions. Curie has momentary control of this single enemy champion image for 1/1.2/1.4/1.7/2 seconds. During this time period, control is restricted to movement and auto attacks. However, auto attacks deal huge amounts of bonus damage based on her missing health. Enemy champions cannot deal target their controlled team mate. Curie then splits from the enemy champion image and relinquishes control to the opposing player, both having the same number of hit points. If prior to the two spheres merging, Curie is killed, the enemy target will be stunned for 1 second.
Stats I'm not going to go into specifics except to say that Curie is meant to be a different kind of support. This concept introduces a new tank mechanic for league in the mirror image ability. She also can help give team mates more ways to survive a fight by giving them the "Reflective" buff. Ping Pong is a fun skill which could allow for some fun reactive plays. One of the best things about her is her ultimate, a true ability worthy of being called one. Not only is most of her potential damage loaded into this skill, it allows her to control an "image" of her enemy, showing what a true monster they can be. I believe this would be extremely satisfying for players and still offers enough counterplay for enemies to not feel frustrated by it. Curie would also be the first openly trans-gendered champion in League of Legends.
