Noctine, the Harrower((champion concept))

Hey guys! I've noticed we don't have a yordle from the Shadow Isles, so I thought of an idea that could be built on. So let's start with their looks! Noctine is a "tall" yordle, with ghostly blue skin; her hair is an ethereal purple and down to her calves, hanging loose and flowing. Noctine wears dark and flow-y clothing: a sleeveless V-neck top and long jacket, and loose pants tucked into black leather boots with lots of cool buckles. She wears heavy leather bracers, and fingerless gloves. Noctine wields a "long" scimitar with a curved handle(the handle and blade form an almost "S" shape).

HER STORY Noctine was once a yordle who sought out the mysteries of Runterra. She knew her people discouraged long excursions to the outside world, but took an opportunity to sneak away to a distant land called the Blessed Isles. She had studied it, and thought its magic would be wonderful to share with her people. Upon arriving in the distant lands, though, Noctine felt exposed- she couldn't quite say what it was, but she felt the need to hide. She spent her days carefully sneaking around the Isles' halls of learning and magic, absorbing all the knowledge she could, until one day she was caught by one of the king's guards.

The guard saw her as Noctine truly was- a yordle- and reasoned that she must be a killer hired by a mage sect to take out their king. Noctine tried to explain her notes, and after being captured and then brought before the king, it did become clear she wasn't truly a mage- but the king gave her a tough choice: become what she had been accused of, or die. Noctine chose the path of assassins to save herself.

Noctine spent many hard years learning of magics and assassination, and was eager to prove herself to the king. For a long while she wasn't sure if the king trusted her, even though she did her best at her job. Slowly though, she saw the king changing, seeming to her like he was a yordle who spent too long in isolation. Noctine had learned from her job how the king was vulnerable, and one night warned him of this- an act that would change Runeterra forever. From then on the king kept Noctine close by, watching from the shadows to keep him safe. She did this faithfully, but never found out who was against the king, until his beloved queen passed away, and it was far too late to stop the plot in motion. The rites failed horribly, and Noctine felt the world fade away from her as the dark mists washed over everything.

On waking, Noctine felt a strong urge- like her king was whispering for her to get to work. She saw the man, her magic laying his life out before her like shapes briefly forming in tendrils of mist. Her magic revealed he was not who she was looking for, but the compulsion remained, and she traveled on. As time wore on, tales and myths of the being whose shadowy blade struck without warning or mercy began to accompany the phenomenon called The Harrowing; king, mage, merchant, peasant or aristocrat, all were claimed by the Harrower. The Harrower was not without reason, but unstoppable in its conviction- if The Harrower had come for your life, your life it would take. There were some who tried to ally with it and summon it, and bargain with the being behind the blade. They succeeded in summoning it- but also in angering it- and the resultant scene became a worldwide example of why The Harrowing was to be feared.

HER STATS Health: 580 – 2025 Attack damage: 60 – 117.6 Health Regen: 8.2 – 21.5 Attack Speed: 0.648 (+ 0 – 42.8%) Mana: 310 – 1180 Armor: 32 – 85.4 Mana Regen: 8.2 – 19.7 Magic Resist: 32.1 – 53.4 Range: 125 Movement Speed: 335

HER KIT Passive: Hidden Pathways While channeling Teleport, Recall, Hexflash, and Aether Stride, Noctine is able to move with 10-38% increased movement speed and is Stealthed. Taking damage or attacking while stealthed ends the stealth and puts Hidden Pathways on a 20/15/10 second cooldown.

Q: Gloaming Trail Throws a shadow blade that sticks in the target champion, causing them to leave behind a trail of Gloaming Mists behind them for 3/3.5/4/4.5/5 seconds. While in the mists, Noctine is invisible, and her next basic attack against the target rips the shadow blade out and does bonus physical damage equal to 15/30/50/75/105(+2/2.75/3.5/4.25/5% total AD percent of the target's missing health). ((Range: 575, Trail Width: target's diameter+25, Mana Cost: 65, Cooldown: 20/19/18/17/16 seconds))

W: Aether Stride When champs uses abilities near Noctine she stores them up as charges. At 6 charges she can channel for 3 seconds to teleport to the target enemy, ignoring 15/18.75/22.5/26.25/30% of the target's bonus Magic Resist and dealing 50/85/115/150/185(+40% AP) magic damage. If Noctine teleports to a target marked by Gloaming Trail, her next basic attack against it deals an additional 1% AP percent of the target's max health as bonus magic damage. ((Charge collection range: 575, Teleport range: 850, Cooldown: 8 seconds, Mana Cost: 80/87.5/95/102.5/110))

E: Flying Blade Noctine throws her scimitar in the target direction. It deals 20/35/50/65/80(+25% bonus AD) magic damage to the first target hit, bouncing to nearby enemies up to five times and dealing the same damage to them, prioritizing enemy champions low on health and/or marked with Gloaming Trail; Noctine can target and reactivate to send the blade to a different enemy previously hit by Flying Blade; if a target marked by Gloaming Trail is killed by the blade, it marks the next champion hit with Gloaming Trail. ((Width: 25, Range: 750, Bounce Range: 350, Reactivation Bounce Range: 500, Mana Cost: 50/56.25/62.5/68.75/75, Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10 seconds))

R: Harrowing Passively makes Noctine's basic attacks to deal 10/22.5/35(+1.5% AP) bonus Magic damage to the target's Mana/Fury/Energy(or HP, otherwise); this effect is lost while the ability is on cooldown. When activated, Noctine summons black mists in an area, marking enemy champions inside it for 6/7/8 seconds and Terrifying enemy minions inside it for 1/1.5/2 seconds. When a marked champion uses an ability, every marked champion near them is Silenced for 0.5/0.75/1 seconds and is Nearsighted for the same duration. ((Range: 700, Effect Radius: 250, Nearsight Radius: 375, Mana Cost: 100, Cooldown: 180/150/120))

SOME OF HER QUOTES Noctine has a soft and husky voice that's low for a yordle, and very unsettling shouts/yells.

Champion Select: None are safe from the night... Champion Ban: Do not mistake my patience for mercy.

Starting a game: There is work to be done here- their fear betrays them. The mist is rising! They will not escape it! Grieve, shriek, beg if you must- I am coming, and there is nowhere for you to run. (global)

Attacking: Innocent? Your guilt stains you. Your shame has done the work- my blade is a formality. Wretched cur! The punishment due! Either way, you die!

Taunting: The farther you run, the worse this will sting.(enemy champ moving away/recalling) The dark may hide your intentions, but it reveals your fears. Mercy is not a language my blade speaks, and it has a lot of talking to do.

Buying An Item: They pay with gold, now? How quaint. Yes, this will do. I'll take all of them.

FRIENDS/ALLIES/RIVALS/ENEMIES Allies: Kalista. Noctine has a few scattered memories of the woman Kalista once was, and values the loyalty she had to their king. Though disappointed by Kalista's current state, Noctine is not adverse to watching/working with her.

Enemies: A very long and extensive list headed by Hecarim.

NOCTINE'S LOG-IN SCREEN MUSIC A background of eerie/unnerving chords occasionally broken up by a heroic melody trying to resolve; the eerie/unnerving chords shift into something more heroic, but the heroic melody becomes sad and nostalgic instead.

Short thing: "Noctine" sounds a bit too much like "Nocturne."

I'm not really too good with Lore, so I'm gonna focus on the kit.

Passive is super niche, and doesn't have too many big impacts. This's kinda why Ornn has more to his a passive outside of just "hey you get to buy items." A second part to this would be good. I'm not sure if stealth while channeling Teleport is such a good idea. Part of the reason it's a channel is so that people can react and see where you're headed, which remains, but the other part is that it can be cancelled; tagging a stealth onto it is a tad more difficult to deal with.

I'm not sure how useful the stealth is on Q, since you're basically only going to be chasing people with it. Stealth is supposed to be a "oh boy you can't see me" thing, but since it's constrained to such a small trail, people can just do something like throw a CC spell through it since they know exactly where you are.

W has... a really long channel, and I'm honestly not sure why. If it's global, then yeah, it makes sense-- but if it's global, this is also way too strong. This is effectively a Nocturne ult on an 8 second cooldown. Considering this isn't your main damage ability, the AP scaling is fine. It's kind of Riot's way of saying "hey I really don't really want this ability to do any damage but it should still deal some so I'm gonna not give it an AD scaling." I'm not sure ignore-percentage-magic-resistance part makes sense, though; from what I can tell, your main damage is going to be from attack damage, so.

E sounds super cool, and it's pretty different. I feel as though it should have some effect on the recast outside of just more damage. It also doesn't make much sense for an AD-scaling ability to do magic damage.

I'm assuming you meant that she had Mana Burn on her ulti's passive. Putting aside the ludicrous (and, frankly, unfair; you're not allowed to cast spells for 6 - 8 seconds or you'll silence yourself and nearby allies) team fighting potential her ultimate offers, Mana Burn is ridiculously strong-- especially considering we have the Guinsoo's Rageblade item. Mana Burn effects are just unfun to play against (and, in my opinion, unfair), mainly because when you eat away at their Mana enough, they'll be OOM and unable to cast anything. Cool? Yes. Fun to play against? Not really.

Lol, Noctine is too close to Nocturne. I’d suggest renaming to “Nyx” or some variant of that if u want to keep the “Night” themed name. Nyx was the Greek primordial embodiment/personification of “night”
