Idea for a Yorick rework in need of critique
I'll dive into the meat of what I have first, then describe why I think this would be an improvement.
-Yorick-
Passive: Undead Horde Yorick can have up to three untargetable, undamageable ghouls following him at any one time. Each ghoul that is following yorick provides a small buff to him, which may stack up to three times. They can be any combination of a possible three types. Melee Ghoul (damaging squishy) (provides a dmg buff to yorick) Ranged Ghoul (typical dmg/hp + slow) (gives yoricks autos a percent slow) Tanky Ghoul (little melee dmg, better hp) (provides yorick with a percent damage reduction)
Q: Command Ghoul - 6 second cooldown Yorick targets an enemy, and the first ghoul following him will stop following him and move to attack the target. The ghoul becomes targetable and damageable, and it gains a small decaying speed boost. it's first attack gives bonus damage, and it no longer passively buffs yorick.
W: Throw Ghoul - 8 second cooldown Yorick tosses the first ghoul following him at an area, binding all enemies in a small radius for a small time. The ghoul auto targets the nearest enemy to attack, prioritizing enemy champions. The ghoul becomes targetable and damageable, and it no longer passively buffs yorick.
E: Create Ghoul - 12 second cooldown Yorick targets one enemy melee minion, caster minion, or a small jungle monster, dealing a percent health execute. If the unit dies, it is transformed into a type of ghoul, which will then obediently follow him around, forming a line behind him. Melee minion = Melee Ghoul Ranged minion = Ranged Ghoul Small Jungle monster = Tanky Ghoul Yorick can target himself, which will send the first ghoul in his line to the back of the line (refunds half cooldown), or he can target a ghoul he previously sent out, bringing it back into the line following him (refunds half cooldown). Once it returns to yorick it will again be untargetable and undamageable, provide yorick with its passive buff, and it will also begin regenerating any lost HP.
R: Epic Undead - 120 second cooldown Yoricks ultimate causes all of his ghouls to gain each others stacking passive buffs, while also allowing him to receive their buffs while they aren't following him.
Alright, having written all that, I will now describe why I think this might fix yorick as a champion, using bullet points.
-
Tying Yoricks ability to cast ghouls to a limited pool of ghouls provides counterplay opportunity for the enemy. limiting the ghouls passive buffs to only those provided by the ones currently following him acts as a tradeoff, making the choice of using a ghoul or not using a ghoul matter to the yorick player. No longer will yorick be able to or want to simply hide behind spammed ghouls.
-
Tying the type of ghoul to the target of his E gives yorick a huge amount of flexibility, allowing players to tailor their kit of ghouls to their play style or the situation. His E also acts as a limiter for yoricks early game.
-
Yorick would normally fall off in usefulness late game, but his new ultimate ensures he and his ghouls can still be relevant.
-
Yorick would become an extremely complex champion to play and play against, as opposed to his current mash buttons style.
Me and my brother came up with this idea for a yorick rework. I'm interested in seeing if the community can improve upon it (I know I don't have much of a head for statistics, so everything is described in vague terms needing to be filled in.) ability Cooldowns are simply flat, without scaling, at least in this iteration of yorick. and mana costs aren't even given, though in my ignorant opinion this yorick may not even need a resource bar.
What do you think?
Special thanks to TheSheepyShep, for suggesting the percent health execute on the E
