Vayne ran down the brightly and ornamentally lit street in a rush, her dress flowing behind her. It was an elegant gold-trimmed red dress that went to her waist and cut off at the shoulders with a piece flowing behind her legs. She wore stockings and a slightly longer and lighter dress underneath. Part of her hair was in a gold ribbon and wildly flowed behind her. The usually dull place now filled her with awe. There were decorations everywhere she turned; including fireworks, pigs, banners, and lanterns. The celebration for the year of the pig was tonight, and she had wasted precious time rounding up some runaway pigs. They were contently trotting beside her at a steady pace. Once the fireworks had begun, they had run in a panic. By the time Vayne had managed to calm them down, she was covered in mud and grass. Luckily she had not put on her dress outfit yet, so she was able to clean herself up and exchange the clothing out. Vayne was first supposed to return the pigs to the plaza where the celebration was being held. She was told that a hooded figure had tried to lead the pigs away from the plaza, but when someone rushed to stop the thief, the pigs had gotten spooked and ran off. Vayne had found them in a cart of hay right as the fireworks had begun. She had run after them for roughly ten minutes before she had rounded them all up. Once Vayne returned the pigs, she must then meet with a man that can give her information on her target. Vayne had heard rumors of a fire mage living somewhere near here. She had casually asked around about the mage until she came across the man she had agreed to meet. When Vayne had started talking about the mage, he seemed intrigued. He told her that the mage is rather well known here and that one would never suspect her. After some discussion, they had agreed to meet tonight in the plaza. Vayne was getting closer and closer to being late. Vayne saw the plaza come into view and had to adjust her eyes to the vibrant lights and colors coming from it. She let her eyes drift around, noticing the drums, dragon dancers, red envelopes, and red lanterns. Everyone in the plaza seemed to be dancing, smiling, and laughing. Bursts of lights in the sky caught Vayne's attention, and she looked up. She observed the fireworks and stared in awe. After a moment she made her way to the stage at the center where the woman who managed the pigs was standing. Vayne spotted her in the sea of people and celebration. She was wearing a slim red dress with gold trim. The dress reached to her ankles and had cherry blossoms all around it. She had pale skin and had black hair that was in a bun. When the woman noticed Vayne with the pigs, her face lost any worry it had, and she shouted "I see you found them! Thank you so much. We can finally do our final act with them. Here are the coins I promised you first, though." The women turned around and pulled out a red envelope from a shelf and handed it to Vayne. The women then said, "I must hurry along now, I'll see you after the performance!" She gathered the pigs from around Vayne, and they all rushed off to behind the stage. Vayne opened the envelope to find one hundred gold coins with pigs carved onto them. Vayne put the coins into her pocket and made her way through the crowd until she reached the alley behind the butcher shop. There was a piece of paper where the man should have been. She made her way over to it and picked it up. It read, "The mage is the hooded man who has been attempting to steal the pigs." This did not help her. Where was he? Vayne was growing frustrated. She flipped the paper over to see if there was anything, and there was "But I'm already far gone by the time you're reading this." She instantly crumpled the paper in frustration and threw it to the ground. "How could I have been fooled that easily?" she muttered under her breath. She angrily made her way back to the stage. She made it just in time to see the final act. The pigs walked in rhythm around the dancers on stage. After a while, the pigs jumped up onto pedestals, the dancers bowed, and fireworks flared from behind them into the sky, making a jaw-dropping show of lights. The women from earlier walked towards her. Vayne instantly decided to ask her, "Do you know anything about a fire mage around here?" The women looked shocked at such a random question but said: "Yes I do, why do you ask?" Vayne instantly lit up at hearing this, smiled, and said: "We're good friends, but I haven't seen him tonight. Can you take me to him if you know where he lives?" She hesitantly told Vayne yes, and led her down the cheerful streets to a towering building. They said their goodbyes and Vayne scaled her way up the building to the roof. She sat on the ledge, watched the beautiful fireworks for a long while, and smugly thought to herself: "Fortune favors the lucky."
