Riot is a free to play game that only makes money with aesthetic changes. You can use RP to get runes, and you basically can only use real money for swag. Its something I really like about riot and they'd lose a lot of money by doing this. Honestly I was surprised to see they even let skins be a part of hextech crafting. When I first saw it i thought it was just ways to get champs + hextech specific skins.
