Variant of Blight/Plasma stacking mechanic

I was watching streamer play and reminded how he has on-hit passively on W and marks blight stacks with basic attacks then detonates them with abilities.

Well what if a new champion had an inverted version of Blight mechanic where you gain "Blight" (placeholder name) stacks with abilities instead of AAs, and that your AAs gained damage akin to Plasma stacks? No detonation, just increased on-hit damage per stack, perhaps stacking infinitely and are refreshed by AAs. I think this could pave way for a new spell-slinging AA'ing champion.
