Methinks the reversal of some champions' genders might lead to... discomfort of the amusing kind. The best kind.
Just for that, I might play male
and
, and female
and
, because making people uncomfortable is essentially my passive ability.
It might also be interesting to see bent versions of characters who are noted for being masked or heavily clothed, too, such as
or
, since Riot wouldn't necessarily be able to pull the "long hair = feminine" thing, though it might just be treated as an excuse to pull the "gigantic hips and bust = feminine" thing, which would honestly be stale given how often it's already been played.
Also, female
would probably be the first notably disfigured woman in League, since his bad leg is important to his character, and likewise female
and female
would probably be the first hyper-muscular-giant woman and the first visibly old woman in League, respectively, because again, those traits are important to their characters. Such traits tend inform a character's behavior and outlook.
That observation's discounting the lads (and lasses) of the Shadow Isles (as well as
and
), who would probably be among the most unrewarding to transpose into opposite-gender models, seeing as they're mostly decayed corpses/skeletons and/or ghosts and/or zombies, and at that point all dead people look mostly the same anyway.
And then on the other hand, there's male
and female
, who, yes, we all know, would probably be the easiest to do. Perhaps even to the point of being just as unrewarding, or perhaps not.
It'd be pretty pointless to apply the concept to Yordles,
/
/
, or drastically non-humanoid champions such as
or
, though, because there'd be almost no aesthetic difference apart from VO and mannerisms. Maybe not even VO, in the case of the child champions.
After these considerations, I'm inclined to remain against a line of genderbent skins, because it doesn't appear to be a particularly interesting re-imagination of any given champion, and because the work involved in their creation would likely be disproportionate to the estimated payoff of the experience of the skins themselves.
Who would you be playing as?
with
s or
with a
, if you'll pardon the puns. That's it. No significant change of lore, or visual theme, or personality, or spell effects, unlike Brolaf or Crimson Elite Riven. In spite of this, the skins would demand new models, new animations, and new VO's out of principle, which would make them very expensive for how little they ultimately differ from the default skins.
