[Yordle Controller / Fighter Champion Concept] Moira, the Golden Gypsy

Hello, hello! First things first, I couldn't manage to draw a satisfying concept art after something like a week's worth of attempts (I'm not the best at visualizing a concept idea beyond, like, systems and mechanics if that makes any sense, but she's like an old gypsy Yordle similar in demeanor to Genkai from Yu Yu Hakusho with one crooked ear) but I do have a much deliberated-on kit, a very, very basic lore introduction, some fun sample quotes, and special notes on ability animations I really thought were cool and totally not inspired by random thoughts about Jojo's bizarre Adventure in any way, shape, or form.

All Anime references aside, I hope you enjoy, and please comment on what you like or don't like or asks questions about things like why i decided to give invulnerability on her W skill! <3


Moira is an old Yordle who had spent most of the later part of her life as a hermit on the Blessed Isles. She barely talked to anyone, much preferring the quiet of her little house on the hill as her way of winding down after a long life full of adventure. As fate would have it; however, she left the Isles for Bilgewater mere days before the Ruined King incident, with the intent of trekking across Runeterra one last time before she died.

Moira never stayed in one place for too long. If threatened, she could swiftly dispatch most assailants with her special fighting style centered around amplifying one’s attacks with their mana, requiring years of discipline to master, but only as a last resort on those rare occasions when her quick wit would not suffice. She became something of a legend in some parts; a celebrity or wanted outlaw in others, but wherever she she went she preached the virtues of the Golden Fist, and introduced the way to those who seemed to understand its message. Many wanted her to stay and instruct them further, but none could sway her mind. "I'm going to visit an old friend," she would say, and be gone by the next morning.

Finally, after months of travel, Moira arrived at her destination. It was the final resting place site of a man who bore many distinctions in her heart: her teacher in the ways of the Golden Fist, her greatest friend, her one true lover, ever since they had first yet many years ago as traveling entertainers when he was the song to her dance, and so remained, because a Golden One never truly dies.

Moira had made it up in her mind to pay that special place one last visit before returning to Bilgewater, upon first hearing the news of the fate of the Blessed Isles. The haunts of the Shadow Isles were not content with violating the Isles she had called home for so long, and so had started to spread across the ocean unto Bilgewater. Something had to be done, and what better place to check for answers then the belly of the beast itself? Even if she would have to do it alone, she needed to make a stand. Not for the sake of her own vengeance, but for the sake of protecting all life everywhere.

In her old age, Moira passed the final test of the Golden Fist, also called the Palm of Life style -- to no longer fear death.

Stats: Health: 525 - 1875 Health Regeneration: 7.80 - 22.5 Mana: 405 - 1175 Mana Regeneration: 8.5 - 22.1 Base AD: 46 - 80 Base Armor: 24 - 75 Attack Speed: 0.630 - 1.007 Attack Range: 125 Movement Speed: 335


Abilities: (Note - Ability names are kind of random!)

Innate: Invitation to Dance Moira links herself to the energies of champions upon auto-attacking them, granting her 10% bonus movement speed when moving towards them and 3/6/9/12/15/18/21/25% bonus attack speed per tethered enemy (scaling with Moira’s level). Note: The Tethered effect lasts until either the target breaks free of the tether by standing still while out of combat for 2.5 seconds (tethered scarf gradually turns grey and droops during this time), by the target breaching the outer circle of the tether range (tether grows thin as it is about to break), or if Moira moves out of tether range.

Outer circle range: 500

Q Ability: Golden Carnival Fist Cost - 50 Mana Active Bonus Physical damage: 25 / 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 (+25% AD) Bonus Magic damage over time On-Hit: 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 (+10% AP) Cooldown - 8 Cast type - Auto attack modifying self-buff (reset)

Active: Moira punches will all the power she can muster on her next auto-attack to Stun for 1s, deal bonus Physical damage, and knock the target back 225 units. Note: Performing Golden Carnival fist on a tethered target will reduce its cooldown by half.

Passive: Moira gains bonus magic damage over time on hit while Golden Carnival Fist is on cooldown.

Animation Note: Moira’s fist will glow gold when Golden Carnival Fist’s passive is in effect.

W Ability: Illusory Pirouette
Cost – 95/90/85/80/75 Mana Cooldown - 15/14/13/12/11/10 Cast type - Directed gap closer An evasive maneuver in which Moira pirouettes, becoming invulnerable as she moves in the targeted direction, then inflicts Charm on all nearby enemies for 1.5 secs.

E Ability: Bright Eyes Bomb Cost - 80/85/90/95/100 Mana Magic damage: 110 / 145 / 180 / 215 / 250 (+ 40% AP) Cooldown - 12 Slow Amount: 30/35/40/45/50% Shield Strength: 90 / 105 / 120 / 135 / 150 (+ 25% AP) Cast type: On-click A ball of golden energy appears in the air. After a 2 second delay it crashes unto the area near the next enemy Moira attacks. All enemies hit are dealt magic damage and slowed for 1.5 seconds, whereas all allies hit gain a shield for 1.5 seconds. Moira can freely move while the ball is charging. If 5 seconds pass without Moira choosing a target, the ball of golden energy disappears and half of the Mana cost is refunded. If Moira's next auto-attack is empowered by Golden Carnival Fist, the energy ball will land on the area where the target is knocked back to.

Ultimate Ability: Baby, Let Me [Hold You Close] Cost - 100 Mana Cooldown - 120/100/80 Cast Type: On-click, situational.

Moira yanks all current active tethers. If a Tethered enemy is positioned precisely at the farthest tether range from Moira upon cast, they are Rooted for 1s and become untargetable as they are pulled into Moira’s attack range. All other targets will simply be rooted for 1 second and have their tethers broken.

While Moira’s Ultimate is able to be cast, tethers connected to targets at max range will glow Gold.


Gameplay strategy:

Pretty tricky to describe. One combo in teamfights, for example, is you can activate your E then W into the enemy team. While the enemies are charmed, auto someone you don't intend to punch away so the E will land on top of you and the majority of the enemy team, then auto + Carnival punch the front line unit of your choice away, and by then your E should make impact to grant you a little extra survivability while you try to get the tether on as many enemy champions as possible (at level 18, having a tether on all enemy champions will grant you a whopping 125% attack speed!) then proceed to DPS like say Jax or Xin Zhao. If the high priority targets try to run you can ult to pull them back if you time it properly, or at least slow them down, and by then you should be able to cast your E again, all the while spamming your Q whenever it's up on a front liner as he tries to go in on you in order to maintain your Q passive for that spicy extra burn on autos.

It sounds like fun to me!

**Important Note on Ability animations: ** Whenever Moira casts an ability, the image of a muscular, well-dressed debonair looking gentleman with flowing long hair, a feathered hat, a lute strapped to his back, and entire body basked in golden flames appears alongside her.

Golden Carnival Fist - the Golden Gent can be seen smashing his Lute unto the target alongside her. Illusory Pirouette - the Golden Gent can be seen playing his lute behind her. Bright Eyes Bomb - the Golden Gent can be seen charging the bomb over his head during its channel time, then releasing it. Baby, Let Me [Hold You Close] - the Golden Gent can be seen pulling at the tethers with great ferocity! Upon death - a younger version of Moira appears as a spirit basked in gold from Moira’s corpse and holds hands with the Golden Gent as she says her death line.

Interesting Passive, how about this:

Let's Dance(Passive -just like Garen's mechanic with the "Villain"): Moira marks the Champion that she has done the most damage to as her "Dance Partner", Moira has increased 10% bonus movement speed and 3/6/9/12/15/18/21/25% when within range of this "Partner". If her "Partner" dies or if she deals more damage to another champion the passive is reset.

For lore reasons, You can only have one dance partner not multiple ;) so the tether part was removed.

Q - Very much like Poppy's E, but without the follow up. Very strange ability for a "Dancer" Swing Dancer(0): Moira targets an enemy champion, she swings the champion for 3 seconds, the enemy and enemy units take damage, anytime during activation, Moira can reactivate the ability to launch the enemy champion towards a target location. If it is a wall, the Champion is stunned for 2 seconds. If she targer her "Dance Partner" it last an additional 1 second. Passive: Moira gains bonus magic damage over time on hit while on cooldown. (i find this very weird, but okay)

W: A little more detail on the charm? AOE size? Charmed means they are silenced and forced to move towards you. abit like Fiz's ability i assume. well at least it has a dance theme XD maybe allow her to do it 2-3 times?

E: Pretty complicated ability, and comes out of nowhere. Not dance related, so i'm sad :( Disco ball(W): Moira summons a disco ball that Cleanse her and allies of CC effects and gives increased movement speed in a target area for 7 seconds. At the end of the duration, the Disco ball drops, dealing damage in an area.

Don't like her Ult. especially with the tether mechanic. overcomplicated. how about this: Spot Lights(R): Moira target's a champion, must be a certain distance away, must in vision, no terrain blocking. Spotlights are shun to Moira and her Target (can be ally or enemy) They dance towards each other for 5 seconds, getting closer and closer each second, They are immune to all sources of damages and CC effects until they reach each other. They cannot cast spells or abilities. If the target is her "Dance partner", after they meet, Moira immediately uses Swing dancer, Moira is still immune during this time.

To me this kit fits better with her Dancer theme and makes her more fun to play and play against in my opinion.
