A tale of valor, so long dear sister
Moonrise, the night air was damp and still after the seasonal showers. This was a cold night and with the clouds still hanging more rain was sure to come, since fledging the slave camps of Noxus Tamra had barely eaten and was on the verge of collapse, though exhausted she still pushed herself trying to make distance between she and her pursuers her foot dredged through thick muddy pools left Behind by the rain. She slipped, mid fall her mind faded, the thought of Death tickled her mind, it was welcomed for anything was better than being caught, being dragged back to the. Camps they would return her to her noble master, nobility was nothing but a title given to those who supported the empire but they were nothing more than lowly scum who thought nothing of others, only their disgusting selfish desires brought them happiness. Her mind raced at the thought of what she'd endured, the way he savagely struck her body, lashing her at any opportunity, ignoring her pleads to stop. The thoughts brought only hatred, once she felt sorrow for her self countless hours she spent crying herself to sleep only to be woken haunting dreams of her reality, several times she had attempted to take her life, end her suffering and ease her pains but she lived on for the sake of her sister Sennra long lost to a similar fate, twins they were she and her sister bought by the same master slaves to his househould he would beat them each after the other, years of this torment eat away at her sister who had the awful fate of having the prettier face she was more harshly ravaged, but she had been the more submissive. Day after day she fell in the darkness losing her mind to his wicked will, her last words spoken were in tears but she smiled and said "Tamra my sister i love you so dearly but fate is so cruel, how did we come to this?" shaking her head Tamra embraced ber sister and said i know my sister but we can escape we, can be free." smiling her sister said "what is freedom in this land, it's cursed life has no meaning except for an end" sobbing Tamra said "that their life can have meaning just we must fight for our selves. " Their moment of kinship had come to an end the clock had struck 4 and their time was by near, at the door was a rattle a sound that they feared . Their master walked in, the room he had trapped them moved to her sister and pulled at her hand she did little to resist for he had made her his own, her eyes would go lifeless, a blank stare like an empty canvas the reason for his lashings, he wanted her fear, tears and everything else, her body was trembling but still he pressed on, the rattle of keys and her mind had returned. Tamra lay face first in a pool exactly her size, the rain had been falling and had carved out her figure, her impression in mud, she was content with just staying there but the sound of barking and snaring in the distant winds beckoned her to to move, she pressed her Hands against the ground sinking slightly deeper, she gasped in horror as she was now stuck, wrist deep in a thick black mud. "growing sound of hounds barking", a loud hiss followed by a distant snarl commanded her to shift attention to the overhang to her east the adjacent direction of the barking. Through the shadows she saw nothing, the darkness was over bearing and her anguish caused her to yelp at the sight of something, an unidentifiable silhouette melding with the Shadows, moving without sound, her fate was sealed she thought, then the sound of barking once again grounded her in the present. Her mind raced at the thought, If her pursuers were at her back, what is this to my right? Then the thought surfaced something else would have her hopefully do what she had always wished, to end her right now leaving nothing for her captors. The warming thoughts of her death relieved her and she looked on to the shadow with a welcoming smiled as it veered to her north and paused, only then were it's eyes visible, the distinct violet red entranced her like a mirror to her soul, she saw herself in the muck she called life she, saw pity for herself, then she was enraged. How could this happen she was a daughter of a former war general, only after he was captured and executed by the empire for showing honor and mercy to the troop he had bested, lord Swain thought that he had shown weaknesses and that his enemies wouldn't have hesitated to finish him, so for his ignorance, he was publicly executed and made an example, that the empire would show no weakness nor mercy to those who oppose it. The barking grew louder a sign that they were mere meters away, the shadow snarled, its eyes flashed then like an eclipse of the moon a membrane moved across it's eyes, they were once again gone completely unseen, the creature had once again melded with the Shadows. Despair fell over her once again. Slowly she looked behind her to realize her worst fears, the figures of men were clearly outlined in the muck she was slightly hidden from them but the hounds they knew, it would only take moments for one to find her but here she saw three all anxiously barking, tugging strongly against their ties, they already knew she was there unmoving, waiting for them to catch her. And like the well trained tracker he was their holder let them loose, the hounds darted in her direction, she tensed as she saw the first leap as if pouncing on it's prey, out of the shadows something lunged pulling it out of the air right over her, a whimper, followed by a loud savage crunch and slurping noise halted the other two frozen where they stood they looked about frantically, it came again from the darkness pulling a second hound to the shadows the onlooking men were as puzzled as the animals, Tamra lay still in her bed of muck as a mixture of bliss, disgust and horror contorted her otherwise refined face, as the last retreated to its masters it's loud whining focused the men's attention they finally saw the shadow it moved erratically over the ground almost as if hovering the it paused there was ample distance between it and the hound who was almost home free when the shadow launched, rapidly it extended, reached and retracted the fleeing hound, the men all stood in petrified horror and bewilderment the hound was pulled into the shadowy creature its futile pleas washed over by the sound of its bones being broken and grinded. A moment of silence fell as every one looked onward almost as if they honored the hounds sacrifice. A crimson flare blasted away the darkness, the sudden plume of light caused the already weary footmen to fall over in surprise. The flames lasted only a moment, but long enough to reveal the shadows identity. Glaring before them was a creature they had only fathomed in their tall tales, not a dragon but a creature of similar origin it stood on four limbs like a Cayman, spotted a broad head similar to that of an arrowhead, its scale shimmered in the fast fading flames while it whipped its reptilian tail in anticipation, the darkness returned, only a second passed before another plume chased it, at its feet Tamra could be seen trapped in mud mere inches away from this creature of legend, it stood taunting, the flares came from it's nostrils serving only to illuminate its presence to the search party, it's intelligence could be felt for after that it vanished. After all these years since the dragon wars, who would have thought here in the brush Forrest of the Dalmor Plain dwelled an ancient salamander. Though still young it was a power to acknowledge plus it was cunning, it hinted this moments ago. Still trapped in her encrusted bed of mud Tamra remained motionless, fearful that this creature might enact upon her the fate of the hounds. The footmen dared to approach but with a plume streamed in their direction even the galliest man was disheartened and refrain in from approaching. The beast appeared to grin, a scaly month filled with conical teeth bloodied after its feast on the search parties Drake hounds. From it came a gargling sound, another plume, then the unexpected, though she'd hoped for it to end her, it didn't instead it had taken an interest in Tamra, sensed somehow that she was in trouble yet also realized that she looked to it as her savior. In a swift motion the beast swiveled, wrapping it's tail around her midsection then hoisted her from the crusted pool which held her prisoner and once again melded into the shadows.
