Riot! I have your Yorick rework ideas for you right here!

So, I read into what Riot wants to do with Yorick. They want a full revamp, but they want to keep his core elements in there, but make him a ghoul summoning, melee, juggernaut with tower siege and split pushing abilities.

What I have noticed recently is it seems like concepts are being used to similarly. For example, Bard's "R" is an area item 3157. That ult is also very similar to Kindred's "R" which is an area invulnerability, which is almost the exact same as Taric's new ult except Taric has a slight spin on it where it only make his team invulnerable for a bit. Now there is nothing wrong with these abilities, it's going to make team fights a whole lot more interesting and I totally get how complicated it is to come up with new ideas. Now, I have never tried making a character concept for this game before, but I wanted to throw out some ideas that I thought were pretty unique, so here it goes.

First off, to get Yorick to fit Riot's new vision for him, I thought if he was a champ that could use and manipulate the lane minions would be a fresh concept that no champ really does too much so far. So with that being said, I'll start off with my idea for Yorick's new "W"!

W - Life Siphon

Range: Around 175 Cost: Somewhere around 55 to 80 Cooldown: Somewhere from 35 - 25

Active: Yorick hits a friendly lane minion, deals damage to it and takes a portion of the damage dealt and heals himself.

I think this would be a great new concept because not only is it a self heal, it also has the option to steal a little bit of creep score from your opponent, which is why I would put a really long cooldown on it.

The next skill I have in mind could either be used as a passive, or as his "E"

Passive or E - Necrotic Plague

Range: Around 500 Cost: Somewhere from 45 to 70 Cooldown: somewhere from 20 to 10

What this could do as an active would do an arch side sweeping motion and knock players away from you (or whatever attack really), but the main effect behind this is that a portion of the damage dealt from this active (or from all attacks in general if this is his passive) will deal necrotic damage. This will start slowing filling in the right side of their health bar with grey damage, almost like TahmKench, but instead it makes it so the champion can not heal back up to their full health while the necrotic damage is still there. It will slowly disappear with time, its not permanent max health reduction, but makes it useful while laning.

Now for Yorick's "Q", I have 2 ideas for it.

Q - Soul Release

Range: Around 150 Cost: Somewhere from 1) 50 to 75 or 2) 75 to 100 Cooldown: 1) 15 to 8 or 2) 50 to 30

  1. Active: Boosted melee damage towards minions and champions and if Yorick last hits a minion with this attack, resurrect the minion for your team.

  2. Passive: This ability allows you to capture 1 minions soul per skill point in this ability (so up to 5)

  3. Active: Release the souls and resurrect the minions according to how many souls you had saved up.

This could really help with the split pushing if you could store minion souls and resurrect them at the press of a button, that way you can make a quick tower dive while the opponents are busy with the rest of your team, and you don't need to waste time waiting for the next wave of minions to come through. You could also have it where if you last hit an enemy champion with this attack, you could resurrect a buffed up type of undead enemy. The normal understanding of necromancy is reanimating a dead body, rather then just magically making ghouls appear out of nowhere, I feel using minions for this could make Yorick really stand out among champs.

If you want to keep Yorick as a more summoning in numbers based character, you could have a passive similar to the one he has now, but call it "Strength in Numbers" and get damage, health, or whatever else kind of bonuses that stack per minion you have resurrected.

Now for his "R". I think the resurrect fits Yorick perfectly, but the problem is compared to the other champions that have resurrecting or death avoiding abilities, Aatrox, Anivia, Mordekaiser, Zac, Zilean, Yorick's is pretty useless. All you would have to do is keep the same effects, but if the player you target dies and they have the controllable revenant copy of them alive still, they replace the revenant and avoid death completely, not just for 10 seconds. Sadly, that's almost identical to Zilean, but the difference is you do get a 2nd copy of you or a teammate to help fight for 10 seconds.

This may not be a full character but I hope this puts Yorick in the right direction for what Riot wanted to see from him.

Thank you for reading!
