A Guide to ham Urgod in every role but ADC
; the sexiest champion in league of legends.
#bringbackthenipple
I will clear up one thing right off the bat; Urgod is not an ADC. He is on par with
in that role. It can work, but it is unreliable as hell.
His range is too damn short to be played in that position, and he isn't good enough late game to be your teams sole carry.
That said, he can play any role other than ADC pretty damn well.
Just don't play support Urgod in ranked. You will get reported.
These builds are not 100% optimal (I ain't an Urgot main. I play him, but not in most games).
Before we get into the builds, there is one rule about Urgot.
Don't be a bitch.
Ok? Ok.
(That doesn't mean you can be stupid. Don't overextend or do other dumb shit. You will give us Urgot players a bad name.)
has a similar powercurve to
. Very good early game, pretty good midgame, but bad lategame (unless you snowballed).
He plays similar to
. Harass your lane opponent, All-in when you can kill. Lategame, you are an initiator and damage source (and tank, If you want to).
Solo Lane (I set up Urgot the same in Mid and Top, for the most part)
Runes I run Armor Penetration Quints and Marks, Armor seals, and MR glyphs. (You can specialize your runes if you want.)
Masteries Against squishies, run 12/18/0 with Thunderlords, for the extra burst. Against people you either need to kite or run down, take 12/18/0 with Stormraiders, because you are slow as hell. Against tanky opponents, run 18/12/0 with Deathfire Touch
Summoner Spells
is mandatory.
is acceptable in toplane.
is the default for mid, but is also great in toplane, since you will often go for early kills.
against Assassins in mid.
against Lissandra and Veigar.
if you are a bitch.
Skill build Max Q first; always. Max W or E second. W for better durability/kiting, E for better damage. R whenever possible. Start Q. In a hard matchup, take W level 2, otherwise take E. If you took E level 2, take W level 3. Otherwise, put another point into Q.
Mid
Items
Start with either
or
(use your own judgement).
Rush for
on your first back (boots optional, but get them asap).
Get an early
and upgrade to
when you can, since you are vulnerable to ganks.
Against most matchups, you will want to rush for your
, since it gives a lot of early damage.
Against a scary AP matchup like
, get a
instead of upgrading that, possibly upgrading your boots to

, complete the

You don't really have any scary AD matchups, since
royally fucks champions like
with his ult and shield. Get
early if you feel like it.
After
, we go for a
.
That's right,
. I already told you we weren't bitches. They will be OUR bitches.
If you have a
already, complete that into
instead of getting
.
Now, WHY are we building
?
's shield causes him to slow bitches with his autos and Q, so Ghostblade lets him run them down easily. Additionally, an
with
can very easily pop the active to chase a victim and ult them.
Fast crabs are scary crabs.
Now, pick from some situational items to round out your build.
Just make sure you hit 40% CDR at some point.
Get one of these if you haven't already.
is generally good at this point, especially if the enemy has some dickhead stacking armor.
if you are fed, this will turn you into a pretty scary motherfucker.
against lockdown, especially if you didn't take cleanse.
amazing. It gives Urgot some sustain that he sorely lacks.
if you are the main carry, and are getting focused (and are a bit of a bitch).
not all that bad. You tend to have more HP than the enemy carries, so
doesn't do as much for you as it does for others.
you will get strange looks. It's not that great, but it gives 20% CDR, and if you are in the thick of it, spellblade will give you a good bit of damage.
again, not the worst option. If you are having problems, this isn't the worst item.
Don't do it.
only if you are Uberdanger.
you sicken me. Grab these if you must.
this is redundant.
this is both redundant and bad.
Top
The build is pretty damn similar.
Again,

Against a Squishy opponent, build like you are in mid.
Against a tank, build
before completing

between

can be good.
The same situational items as in mid.
Jungle
Runes Take AD marks, Armor seals, MR glyphs, and Attack speed Quints. You need attack speed to clear the jungle, and Armor Pen doesn't work against the creeps.
Masteries Take 12/0/18 with Strength of Ages.
Summoner Spells

Yes, I have done this. Yes, I won. No, you shouldn't. Yes, I will tell you how anyways.
(note: this build is unrefined and dumb. I apologize in advance to the Urgot support main)
Runes A mix of Armor Pen and AD marks, Armor seals, MR glyphs, and Armor pen quints.
Masteries 0/12/18 with Bond of Stone.
Summoner Spells
because you are a team player!
Skill build Max Q first, for lane harass (with our build, this is the only time it will ever do damage, so make the most of it while you can.) Max W second for peel. Max E last, since you don't deal damage anyways and the armor pen is mostly useful later anyways.
