[Champion Concept]: Chama, The Searing Surveyor

I'm back again with another champion concept. This time for a marksman wielding an enchanted torch with an eternal flame as his weapon. His background story is that he is a scout of sorts that leads the way, burns the way, & lights the way through enemy territories and on missions to clear a path for his platoon on the march for endless conquest. (So possibly a Noxian, Demacian, or Frejordian) Also his torch has a unique flame that can melt true Ice though he doesn't know it. Anyways in terms of playstyle, I wanted him to have a lot of utility to match his thematic. I also wanted him to be more of an immobile carry that has a lot of aoe an a burn mechanic.

•Passive: Blistering Torch

After damaging an enemy with a spell Chama's next basic attack within 5 seconds will trigger a magic damage over time burn on large monsters an enemy champions. This burn lasts for 4 seconds and will refresh from any damaging abilities Chama inflicts while the target is burned.

Additionally while a target is burned Chama gains 40% bonus attack speed.

*This does not stack with multiple burned targets, but can be extended in duration through the duration of the last unit burned and refreshed burns

•Q: Incandescent Bullet

On instant cast: Chama shoots a fireball from his torch dealing physical damage to the first enemy hit.

On channel cast: By channeling the spell up to 4 seconds Chama can unleash the fireball to deal 80% splash damage in a cone after hitting a unit or reaching the end of its range.

*While channeling Chama gains extended vision range around him

Cooldown: 20 / 18 / 16 / 12 / 10 seconds Cost: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 mana

•W: Infernal Salvo

Chama lobs a combustible cinder from his torch onto a small area. If it lands on an enemy unit or neutral monster it will explode dealing physical damage and knocking back enemies a very short distance. But if there is no target upon landing, it will remain active in the area for 30 seconds.

If Infernal Salvo or Incandescent Bullet is cast, hitting any of the cinders will cause it to explode damaging and knocking back nearby enemies.

*Chama can store up to 3 salvos at once

Recharge Time: 28 / 24 / 20 / 16 / 12 seconds Cost: 30 mana

•E: Flicker

Active: The torch safeguards Chama with its eternal flame for 1.5 seconds. If damaged during this duration Chama will become invisible for 1 second.

Cooldown: 24 / 20 / 16 / 14 / 12 seconds Cost: 40 mana

•R: Wildfire

When cast the torch flares up for 7 seconds causing your basic attacks to bounce 4 times between nearby enemies (prioritizing champions) with a reduced chance to crit, reapplying on-hit effects, and reapplying 10% less damage each time when hitting the same target struck before from the bounce.

*Bouncing basic attacks can trigger burns from Chama's passive

Cooldown: 100 / 85 / 70 seconds Cost: 100 mana

For reference Chama means flame in Portuguese. I crafted his kit with a lot of thought, though the numbers may be off. (take the numbers with a grain of salt) I made sure that his kit was cohesive in playstyle and that his Passive was relevant throughout his kit. If anything is unclear on how he functions then feel free to leave a comment. Please leave positive feedback, questions or comments below. Thank you.

{Edit 1} Changed his Passive burn duration to 4 seconds from 5 seconds.

Looks neat from what I'm seeing, and nothing too crazy in regards to function. My only issues are a few similarities to Brand, though I understand that Chama is meant to be an ADC instead.

His Passive:

This is not a bad passive by any means. My only issue is that it's Similar to Brand's Blaze passive, with the largest differences being that you have to basic attack the enemy to get the ignite off and that there are bonuses to hitting a burning target with an ability aside from a refresh. I'm not sure how much damage this ability will be doing, but I imagine not too much since it can potentially leave the enemy ignited for 25(perhaps longer depending on a few questions I have about the ultimate) seconds- assuming that Chama lands all of his abilities.

Another question is whether or not each individual strike from Chama's W and Ultimate refresh the duration. If so, assuming Chama waits until he has a full 3 charges of his W, a champion that is hit with all 3 of his charges will be ignited for 15 seconds. Like I said, that has the potential to be dangerous depending on just how much damage this ability is doing per tick. Further, is each individual bounce on his ultimate refreshing the ignite timer as well- or is it merely the first hit that refreshes the timer? If each individual bounce refreshes the timer, and Chama's target is only in pairs(like perhaps in bot lane), then that's potentially another 10 seconds added to a now potentially 35 second ignite.

Like I said, it's not a bad passive, it just needs a bit of clarification. I don't think it's too strong either, since Chama's cooldowns rightfully punish any fails to get this fire started.

His Q:

Again, not bad by any means. His instant cast is a fireball, which is fine, just follows the trend of Annie and Brand.

His channeled cast is fine, and even ties well into his thematic of lighting the way. Nice ability overall.

His W:

A fine ability aside from making me question its interactions with Chama's passive.

Will the triggered trap combo deal more damage or the same damage?

His E:

A flame that conceals its wielder is... interesting to say the least, though the ability itself seems fine if not a little out of place.

His R:

It's kind of like Brand Pyroclasm, just with basic attacks and with multiple amounts of bounces. I guess it'd be safer to compare it to Sivir W, just with on-hit effects and diminishing damage per bound. As an ultimate, it feels a bit lackluster, but has a simplicity that I can appreciate.

My only question is whether or not the individual bounces each refresh the ignite passive.

Overall: I think Chama is an interesting champion with a neat thematic and a relatively decent kit. It's hard to tell just how powerful he will be without the numbers to determine his damage and even his ranges, but from what I'm seeing he doesn't appear to be all that overpowered. I think the biggest things that he could use are some tweaks to really make his abilities stand out and perhaps some mechanics to flesh out the way-making torchbearer thematic.

Is it pronounced "Chamma" or "Chomma" or "Kamma" or "Comma" ?
